The M1D looks really promising. Up to 7 colors, IDEX, and there’s an enclosure option. I put $20 down for the early bird access a month ago and the kickstarter just went live today (July 28). Since I have an ancient Monoprice Maker Select printer, I’ve been hoping to upgrade to multicolor + engineering materials, but have been unwilling to jump in any of the AMS-style printers (single nozzle, multiple colors) because of the awful waste purges.

Anyone else have thoughts on this? Some people on the interwebz have loved their Sovol printers from day 1, others seem to need tinkering and replacement parts to get them working right. YouTube reviews of pre-production models should drop soon.

Sovol seems a bit hit and miss on the QC side, but this is super exciting. The pricepoint is weird.
Im concerned about the engineering filament without heated chamber and proper cooling, but it should get a lot of option going.

I too skipped over the AMS systems, too much waster and too much limitations ...

The M1D advanced has a heated chamber and enclosure/top hat. I ended up pledging for the advanced version. I’ll see if the wife lets me follow thru w that 😆

Definitely super tempting, I think I'm ultimately holding out for a Prusa Core One L w/ IDEX, the polish on my snapmaker U1 after years of bambu left me disappointed. Sovol I consider to be in the same bracket, though I think they have a bigger following than snapmaker these days so maybe the post sale experience is better?

I love that more manufacturers are coming out with tool changing printers. This format solves a lot of issues.

I still really like my X1C with the AMS, but I rarely do multicolor prints with a lot of changes just because of the waste.

Initial look seems pretty promising. Caveat is that this is a Sovol fanboy channel. Hopefully others received preproduction systems as well and will start posting reviews.
