    300fps tigershark

My friend asked me to get his tigershark up to 300fps. I could have simply drilled out the original parts but I dont like modifying original parts in case I mess something up, so I machined a new powertube from S7 tool steel.
    330fps with co2.
    300fps on hpa
    time spent: 3 hours

Sorry buddy. I dont do production runs. You can try drilling out your factory powertube with a hand drill or a drill press. No need for fancy machinery if you're simply enlarging holes

Thanks for the video. I like watching these as i like seeing the order of operations to make it happen.

This is actually the 2nd power tube i made. I snapped the threading off the first one and i thought i got it on film but the camera stopped filming. I wanted to show everyone that not everything goes to plan

Very cool. It has been many moons since I used a Tiger Shark, but I do have several out in the garage. Can you adjust the velocity on them?

Nope, people modded them to be able to adjust on the fly. Replacing the main spring with one from a older tippmamn I think works. Pro lite/pro am I believe. Then their was the penny trick to put behind the spring. From factory on co2 they shot in 260fps range I believe. Less on hpa even with standard output regs. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. .

Yeah, the Tigershark was my first makrer, and those days we would just get a group of friends together and play in the back yard, we never heard of chronographs at that time. Good thing they were set at 260fps!

Is the steel in an annealed state or does it machine fine in a hardened state?

Are you planning on hardening it or just using as is?

With the air port that big, you will probably run into breaking at that point. This was the issue with many Nelson style power tubes, especially Bushmasters with the bigger port power tubes,. I think you would be better off doing three holes similar to the Phantom power tube.
