Found a set of grips on ANS for $2.95! And am starting to polish the powder coat off of the Ion frame rail. Might go with a full polish or maybe a wrap if I can get some vinyl to stick.

Added a wrap to the can. I'm unsure if I like it this way. Photos in album. Let me know what you thinkComment

The more you hog off that body the less you have for those detents. I'm sure you've already accounted for that, just putting out there, just in case.

So last night I knuckled down and polished and wrapped the breach to match the can. Then I repainted the modified grip frame and now I'm much happier with where this build is going. I might just make a body spacer and detent covers. Photos added to album on first postComment

It's been a couple days since I played with my poo, so I spent some time painting parts so everything matches. I think I'm getting close. I'm waiting on my grips to coming the mail but it's getting there. I love how this came out. It may become my new main marker. Added photos to album

So I didn't like the gap between the body and frame under the barrel so I added some putty, and now I'm repainting the body and frame. I went back and started looking at other poo threads and realized I need to up my game so I'm redoing everything I don't like. Also I'm still in the trial and error process of placing random springs in various places on the trigger to try to improve the already great trigger pull. I mean I did claim to be making a CVO equivalent, plus I still have time so I might as well shoot for the stars with this build. Im getting super excited about this project. I can't wait to play with my poo in public. Added 2 more pics to the album, more to come in a few days when my $3 grips come in the mail.Comment

And now the moment that all 3 of you have been waiting for...3 PhotosComment

The best part about the whole project is my poo tools that I used to make this happen. I don't have a shop, I have a kitchen table and my basement. These all the tools I used on the project. This is my first major modification since about '06 when I hacksaw halfbacked my Sypder Imagine. Win or lose I'm very proud of this build.1 PhotoComment

Quick shooting test. No leaks and it was holding around 274 +/- 6fps. It feel great. I can't wait to go try it out for real. I'm glad I got to be a part of this contest. I fell in love with this build and now it is going to be my main. So thats why the Freak is on there, I only have Ions so no matter what it's part of my setup. So my Virtue Ion is going to have to sit in the bag next time I go out.Comment

Got a metal regulator grip in the mail today. Picked up 4 for $20 so I just barely made it under the budget limit. It really tops it all off and matches my rustoleum paint pretty well. This thing is officially ready for action. Now to get a weekend without having to work.1 PhotoComment
