    My Dream Project

Well kind of...maybe just one of them..hahah

Always while playing, I start to get exhausted during those gunfights whilst rocking a heavy autococker; usually fighting against those space guns. Now I have a space mech, a 3m, but I still wanted something more unique to me. So I had a vision for a marker that I wanted to hit a few keynotes. I wanted a pump, but also able to convert it with ease if I wanted. I wanted it to be light weight, but didn't just want a pure tube on tube minimalism; I wanted some flavor. Slide frame and some modern quality of life measures; pops-type ASA and clamping feedneck.

Well in that forever conquest to gather parts for no real reason, besides just "that would come in handy."
I ended up with an extra Shocktech trigger plate...this caused me to start to build this. What may end up being named 'Trogdor the Burninator', "Check out all his magesty!" - Strongbad

Started with the trigger plate, then Shocktech found some NOS frames. So I snagged one and then also grabed the rest of the insides, roller sear, and such. I also always had my eye on a Karni body because, they're the best looking 😉 But I do enjoy the look of them, so I also had my eye on the Sanchez body especially a lighter weight mid-block.

I had some other Inception bits from other projects that I took for this project, I then grabbed an on/off and clamping feedneck. For those QOL features.

Then got the rest of the body bits needed from Sanchez. The front end pump block, cocker front block, feedneck adapter, toolless IVG, and a pump handle.

Add them to the rest of the parts I had waiting for a build. A S63 barrel (which I may strip), CCM fittings, another feedneck adapter, trigger shoes (2 type/colors), grips (a few styles), and sleds for pump and cocker. Then also finished by grabbing a Shocktech HPR. Also have a veriety of valves/hammers to use, just not pictured. Also don't know if I want to big bore the KAOS body.

And a partial mock-up in the cocker form

It's not all done yet, I am still deciding on some addition machining. Like a hidden detent or maybe regular one, and maybe an 11/16th bore to accept the new WGP valve insert; depending if I can get someone to take up the work. Then it will be time for anno, once I recoup some costs.

But enjoy some fresh content and check out the bigger album here: KAOS Trogdor Project

Thanks! I knew the beavertail portion was going to look good, but I didn't realize how nice the milling matched up on both until I did this little mock-up!

I kept rereading your post because I assumed I missed that someone custom milled the frame to match the body and wanted to see who offered that service!

It's just an old Shocktech frame that they found a box of them in the warehouse. They may still be on their site under the NOS tab, but sadly we don't really get milled frames anymore at least not in big runs it seems.

I have been slacking on making any progress with this one, so today I cleaned up some machine marks on the body and gave it a slight polish just on the raised parts so the milled area still has its texture.
Also stripped and gave the barrel a slight polish.
I just through the frame in there to see the comparison from before on its sheen.

Thanks! I just used Mothers Mag and Aluminium polish, with some Scotch-Brite Scrub pads. I bought a package off amazon that had 3 'grits' but I really only used the softest one. And just dab and rub and then buffed it with a microfiber. Repeating a couple times.

I had to go to the medium grit to get the machine marks down easier, but yeah just Mothers with a Scotch-Brite pad and some time/patience. Then the microfiber to buff it a bit.

I have actual polishing compound that I may go for, but the mothers does a pretty good job at getting a decent shine. Also stripped the barrel with Easy-Off oven cleaner (Yellow Cap), then same polish technique.
    Working...
