CCM Pump Kit EXTERNAL Spring Main Guide Rod

I need some help with the specs of an aftermarket RC car EXTERNAL compression spring on the main guide rod for my CCM pump kit (pics for reference). I am unfamiliar with the RC car world and don't have a CCM spring for a length reference.


The CCM main guide rod on the pump kit has an OD of 0.35" (about 9mm) and I don't know how long the spring needs to be.


I have a 13mm ID 1.8lb RC car rear shock spring but it's too large and moves around too much on the rod. Preferably it will be a lighter compression strength and have a better fit on the main guide rod than the 1.8lb 13mm one is.


Has anyone done this before, if so what size RC car spring worked the best for the main guide rod on your CCM pump kit?

just get the springs off ccm website, they sell them under maintenance. My springs from ccm go inside the pump handle, although I have seen some outside, I think that is secondary users doing that

I want it on the MAIN guide rod like in my photo. Not the secondary like the ones on the CCM site and kits. JohnB

Ive looked, but since I don't know the exact length then I am not 100% confident I am selecting the best spring.

Sweet! I bet the Lb/In was high though, right? Was it hard to pump?

Iirc the spring wasn’t too bad on the pump stroke. It was a stock spring but I got use to it.

The cci phantom return spring is a direct fit for ccm lower guide rod

I've used a yellow (lightest) Cocker mainspring in the past, on the guide rods. It worked great.
