    YOSMAG UPDATE-best of both worlds

Ok, so lots of votes to keep it mech on mcb
lots of people on fb wanna see it electric. I’m going to attempt to please everyone! My plan is to make electro-pneumatic with the ability to lift the grip, flip up the sear rod and run it mech!
    Here’s the scoop
mini gs has two boards- one in the front grip that connects to another that runs across the top of the frame… a little fusion 360 magic and I now have a 3-d printed “sub-rail” that will sandwich the top board in between the Ule rail and the frame. Board sits in that, mocks up real nice and the trigger actuates the micro switch perfectly.
the mini gs Asa has a port in the top that runs up into the grip. The Asa is also a regulator that runs about 200psi through that port. On the right side there was a screw-in cap with a filter inside. I tapped that spot to 1/8 npt for a macroline fitting, that spot outputs full tank pressure. I’m going to tap the top port as well for an LPR that fits inside the grip.
i have ordered an STO low pressure regulator, mac 33 solenoid, and a clippard ram and I’m going to figure out how to fit all that in the grip when they arrive. Super excited about this build, can’t wait to rip this bad boy!

overachievers gotta overachieve. Awesome start. What do you need to push it forward, any parts/funds? I'd add to a community pool.

Do you really need the LPR, could you not turn down the GS regulator to the desired pressure (I'd guess around 135PSI?) thus leaving you a that room in frame to stuff the Mac+clippard into

EDIT: watch out for wobble and shear strength on the rear "field strip" screw --- those take a lot of pressure and have broken off in people's valves on custom builds before. Grade8 ideally, and retaining teh bushing system from mag is prudent

I thought about that, I would have to do something with the spring inside the regulator, bc I believe it only goes as low as 170, maybe 150.. the MAC 33 is only rated for 120, but I’d like to see it actuate the sear at maybe 70-80psi
Right now I don’t think I need anything, I’ve ordered some parts and I’m on hold until everything arrives. I also ordered a cheap push solenoid from Amazon that is supposed to work like a “clapper” solenoid, but I’m not getting my hopes up that it’ll work..
if it does tho, won’t need any of the other parts! Plug n play!

Someone had to have planned for this at empire when they designed the Mini. It's almost too perfect of a matchup.

Can you fit the board in the front grip area? I think it’s much cleaner up against the mag rail. Increasing the distance from the web of your hand and the barrel line always has a negative effect on feel.

Well, there’s two boards. The one in the front grip connects to the one under the rail.. the 3d printed thing is only 8mm tall, so it’s noticeable.. but just barely

the trilly sf has a crazy space efficient solenoid + ram combo inside; It would be a good part to use, or worth copying. The ram part is basically just a solenoid mount with a plastic plunger in a hole connected straight to the solenoid output.
        If it doesn't have the [F] i don't want it. - Europoor
