Gauging Interest: Custom Sheridan & Cocker Grips (Aluminum, Exotic Wood, Brass?)

Hey y'all,

I've been ramping up my shop's manufacturing capability, and I'm thinking about offering custom grip panels for Sheridans and 45-frame Cockers, maybe more over time if there's demand. Before I commit to getting more material than I need for myself, I wanted to see if there's real interest out here.

What I'm thinking so far:

• Aluminum: no anodizing capability at the moment
• Exotic woods and other materials: I'll be making a stabilized pinecone set, and they look insane
• Brass: maybe?

I've been making fresh CAD files for both, so custom designs are definitely an option. The 45 panels are a great candidate for that since they're flatter, while the PGP grips are a bit rounded on top.

No commitments, I'm just feeling things out. Reply here or shoot me a PM. I appreciate y'all, and I'm looking forward to hearing what you think.

They make them a bunch of color and variation, always thought they looked interesting.

I have not done inlay in a very long time, mixed material is something i woudl consider.
Im thinking to make at least a few brass set, i want to make a 100% brass PGP to complement my copper one 😅
(I casted a set of grip in pure copper, need to cast the rest of the hardware)

For sure, working on a design for the 45 and Sheriddan with flat top so i can engrave/machine custom design on them.

Yup, Any chance on getting CCM style 86* inlays in that material? Purple or Red theme ones I would be all over!

i was doing some testing on some weird materials, and this woodchip/resin composite is surprisingly nice.
Ill also make some thin/flat grips

its in the lineup, im looking at doing the 45 panels in 1/8 thick (super thin/flat top) and 1/4 thick (either thicker flat top or curved)
after that it might be more on teh custom side and well need to talk 😁

I'd be pretty interested in a pair of cocker grips and I'm just gonna throw a total hail Mary out there but a wood/brass k frame grip would be insane.

ill start with cocker and PGP, and go from there, but the K-frame are a bit too complex for me at this time (and probably for a long long time ...)

You can order wood KFrame grips through Pachmayr lots of color options. I did the round bottom conversion on mine. Just had to take the stock mount screw and turn it down slightly.

All 4 "flavors" i currently have on hand; 45 and Sheridan only for now (got some other options in the works ..)
The aluminum is still a bit of a work in progress, might make them 1/4" instead of this super slim 1/8" ...
