ASA Thread size

Could someone confirm what the thread size is for standard ASA? I need to purchase a tap for an ion project. I saw on another site someone stated it was 1/2-14 nps, but was hoping an MCB expert can verify before ordering a tap. Thanks!

ASA threads are .825x14 NGO. It's close to 1/2", and I've seen people use 1/2" sealed with Teflon tape for static ASA threads before, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it if it's something you'll be taking apart fairly often.

I may have to try the 1/2 because an .825x14 ngo tap is $140
