    Tippmann C3 Muzzle Break

I'd love to put a ported muzzle break on the C3 to try and change the noise signature a bit. Stock has enough of a report sound to it that I'm don't like backyard plinking with it with neighbors around.

I was thinking I could readily print a ported section to slip over the end of the barrel, my question is what should the clearance to the ball be? If I go with an 0.7" ID am I going to be too tight, or too loose? I feel like I should have a little clearance so the printed end doesn't mess with the trajectory.

It's either that or I put the Barrett M82 style break off thingiverse on it and embrace the loud.

How hot does the end of the barrel get on those things? You might as well embrace the loud. I doubt you will make it quieter without like a firearm suppressor. With that being said, your muzzle break should be the same exact size as the bore, or even a couple thousandths bigger.

Not hot at all. Even if you fire directly into your hand, the exhaust gas has cooled quite significantly. It's warm, but not hot enough to melt anything.

Anyway, embrace the loud. Even if you quiet down the barrel end, you'll still have to find a way to deal with the exhaust vents on the back side of the gun that also contribute to the sound.

      I can haz feedback?
If I owe you feedback, just remind me, as I sometimes forget.

They sound awesome, and are not much louder than a 98 ...
if you have a printer handy, give it a go and let us know what you find.
A muffler for the back end might be needed to make a difference.

Fair enough, it might not be much louder than a 98 but it seems much sharper which is what I'd like to curb a bit.

I'll print something up and see what happens. The back end could be muffled easily enough with a foam block I suspect.

I suppose I should get out the measurement mic and make some real science out of it.
