    Air America reg seats?

I just got some reg seats for my mag valves from agd for like $2 each. Immortal air wants $25 for 1 or $28 for 2.

1st question- is there a reason for the price difference besides profit margins?

2nd question- does anyone else produce these?

I guess one more- how important is it to get the pin and seat at the same time?

    thanks!

From what I remember hearing AA seats are different, stiffer I'm pretty sure. Plus it's old stock so once mortal runs out, that's going to be it. But yeah I'm pretty sure you can't run AA seats in a mag unless you swap parts from a AA reg into the valve

Ah, right, I didn’t mention above that I was looking for AA seats for AA my growing horde of AA regs. Got the mag stuff under control for now.

Automag reg seats will work absolutely fine in an AA Unireg, as will the rest of the orings/seals. So, you will do just fine with Automag spare parts. With the exception of the spring pack, which you probably wasn't going to service/exchange anyway.

Based on prior advise, when I last rebuilt an AA reg, I used both a mag seat and pin. The reg is working just fine.

The new AA reg seats sold by Immortal Air are NOT 'new old stock", these are new production as are the reg pins. The material is much stiffer than the AGD reg seat, and will last longer. If you use AGD reg seats, you have to use the AGD reg pin, you can't mix and match parts. The AA reg seats last forever so I just bought the real deal from Immortal Air.

Likely the small cost difference between the 1 part vs. 2 parts is based on the packaging, stocking and order fulfilment costs. One part, especially small parts take an effort and material to package and fulfil the order so to add in the 2nd part is really just the cost of the part and little bit of handling. This is the same with places like McMaster Carr and Grainger....etc. Order 1 specialty fastener or fitting and the cost seems ridiculous but as you add on to the quantity the cost per part goes down quickly. Not all that long ago I needed a couple of Aluminum Fasteners for a project and it was not cost effective for me to order just a couple so I ended up getting a box of 40 but now I have way more then I need at the moment but what the hell I'll find a use for them.

Yeah, I totally get that. I have been tossing around the idea of emailing them and asking for a break on 6 or 8 sets, but I ended up asking the experts here first.

oh and I got the numbers wrong for those that care about such things. It was $15 for one and $28 for 2.

after going back and seeing that, doesn’t seem like the break will be quite so steep for multiples

I have a bunch I made about a decade ago for $10 each if you still need any. Most of the reason for the expense is the material, PCTFE.

Hey, thanks for posting! I bit the bullet and ordered a bunch of stuff from IA but it won’t be enough to fix all my problem children. I’ll make an assessment after exhausting this batch and let you know.
