I imagine this is going to help a very small number of people, but figured I’d share anyways.
Picked up a Fireball Mountain Gothic paintball marker without spikes!? Fear not! You don’t have to spend $1.50 /spike to complete that marker. In fact, follow these steps and you can fully spike your gothic autococker, gothic Spyder, or gothic impulse for right around $30!
What you’ll need to do:
- Buy #4-40 x 1/4” set screws from your local hardware store. (I use Home Depot)
- Buy 3/8” #10 spikes from www.StudsAndSpikes.com
- Buy Locktite
The method I’ve found that works best is:
Step 1: Screw your set screws into your marker.
Step 2: Put a dab of locktite on the set screw.
Step 3: Screw your spike onto the set screw.
That’s really it. It’s a bit of a tedious task, but it’s simple.
I let them set for a few minutes and just unscrew the spikes, clean the body and spikes of any extra locktite and let it cure completely. Now you’re ready to screw your spikes on and off the marker as you please!
