    Rules!!!

    Starting tomorrow 1/13/25, ending 3/13/25

This is open to anyone. You dont have to sign up, just start a thread in the sub section after reading the rules.

Winner gets bragging rights, and a T-shirt designed by me and printed by our very own BLachance75 I'll wait until we have a winner so we can get you the right size shirt.

This is a 2 month build. If you aren't done in time, we will have to vote on what you have done. I would think a working marker would get mote votes though. Depending on how much participation there is, we might have to do nominations for the final poll. The main objective of this is to be creative and have fun. Theres rules, but Im not going to research everyones parts list to see if you're in budget, but the rules are there to try to make a level playing field for everyone.

    The Rules

    1. Grab a marker thats worth $100 or less

    2. There will be an additional $100 budget for parts and materials

    3. 2 month deadline. I'm not dragging this on.

    4. Freebie parts are parts that you have not in use. That means if you steal a part from a working marker, you should apply fair market value to the part from your budget.

    5. I really want to see working markers, so if you can prove that it will break paint on a mask at 20 ft that would be great. I want to know that you made something that could actually shoot someone out in a game.

    6. Your marker can function however you want. Bolt action, semi, rubber band powered, whatever. I'm not splitting this into seperate categories, its one big free for all.

    7. Have fun!

I would imagine we have to cost 3d printed parts in the extra $100?

Dude 3d printing is practically free...

It would be hard to put prices on printed parts other than just whatever you use in materials (filament, fasteners, springs, ect.) I guess its closer to freebie parts if you have a printer. If you dont have a printer, maybe get friendly with someone who does? Also the winner will be decided by the public, so its not necessarily an advantage to cover your marker in plastic parts (not saying thats good or bad, but people have their opinions)

Would you consider a broken ats85 as a 100$marker? , im thinking of making an electric AT 85 calling it the E-AT-85 .

Not too familiar with the pricing on AT85's but it is broken. Unless someone else has any objections, I'd say yes.

So what if I machine parts? How do I establish value? The cost of raw materials? Normally I would say it’s a grey area that doesn’t really apply but there was discussion on 3d print pricing

Yeah just materials. Pretty much the same discussuon as printed parts. I'm well aware not everyone has access to everything, but this is more about creativity anyway. That being said, friends with tools are almost as good as having them yourself. Its not uncommon to help opponents out, for the spirit of the game, right?
