Since the dents on the tip of the power tube were exactly half a circle, I thought they were intentional and a cheap way to build a .50 Cal breech face.

That might also be the thickness of a hammer bumper that is no longer there. (?)

BrickHaus the only tippmann stuff i have is an original SL-68 at the moment. Once I build up these Carver's, I doubt i'll ever have another Tippy.

Wait... you dont have spare 98c aluminum power tubes laying around? Not even one enroute from Myrkul? Man thats rough...

The power tube and valve outer body seem like thin plastic. Mine had severe damage from the cross pin of the 50 cal insert slamming into it like your pictures above.

Which part are you talking about? I thought the valve was pretty identical to the old 98C valves.

The lower screw on the opposite side of the feed neck had to be drilled out on mine. Before i disassemble the 3rd gun, i'm gonna pre-soak the bastard!

i did notice that on mine as well. figured i'd try my concept as a 50 cal first before i have to buy 98 bolts. Shaking my head at the plastic valves in these lol

Got mine apart without much fuss, except that cursed tippann valve design. I was hoping to modify the 50cal bolt for 68cal but that thing.... that thing is coming out. Rest of it's going in the dishwasher when the better half isn't looking. Anyone else notice the 'bolt face' pin bashing into the power tube?

Same. It didn't help that I tried to use a power driver. So yes, soak them if they are even a little stubborn: they don't have strong sockets.
