    Blunderbuss or Blunder Bust

I found this blunderbuss wall art on Shopgoodwill.com and then the voices in my head started telling me to buy it. Then the voices told me to make it into a functioning paintball blunderbuss. My lack of good judgement and self-control decided to listen to those voices. So here we are. This hopefully will be a nifty Blunderbuss and not just a colossal Blunder and total Bust.
I began with removing all of the trim and the barrel. Then I modified a Tiger Shark upper body. Modified the ASA back and flipped it upside down. Notched the stock to secure the upper body. Created a tighter bore inner barrel, threaded it to match the Tiger Shark body. The brass barrel slides over the new inner barrel.
Thats the start. Next up is create a trigger system. Then stain the wood and reinstall the decorative trim. Create a new trigger guard. And finally, test it.
Pic 1,2 are of the original wall art design
Pic 3 is first step in layout
Pic 4 is marker mark up, less the trigger

I love me a good loudencer!

It's funny as that must be a reporposed war horn. You could almost take that apart and fashion the horn back together.

Can I ask why you used a tiger shark?

Its up my alley for sure!

Hmm. The bottom tube in and of itself looks like a mouthpiece. But the barrel part doesn't look like a horn as much.

I'm not judging on your gun selection. I'm just curious. I would have tried to fit a brass in there just for the look, but I'm sure it shoots great.

That or, I'd find the loudest marker I could find to make the loudencer more loud.

      I'd say it's a blunderbuss, not a blunder.

Sold or gifted extra brass markers to other MCB members. Surely wouldn't use a Sheridan KP in this endeavor. The entire forum would hunt me down and stone me for such an offense.

I love everything about this. Tigersharks are so much dang fun and are perfect for these 'hail mary' projects since they're dirt cheap but can function pretty dang well with a bit of love and encouragement. Would you mind sharing some more details about the brass barrel you made? I'd love to try and whip one or two up for my small fleet of shark parts.

Sadly, I didn't make a brass barrel. I made a pvc inner barrel that the original brass barrel slides over. Surprisingly the barrel threads are a standard 7/8" NFP 14 thread.

Well, it is done. This is a completely ridiculous and highly inefficient marker. Obviously, this was not intended for speed ball or any game in which you plan to run the field. It's perfectly suited for the truly special people who love to field bazar markers. It also fits in with pump games. The trim and embellishments are from the original wall art. The Trigger guard is my own handy work. The trigger is a modified double trigger that I bought from Ebay. The stock was modified to allow for the 12-gram bucket changer. I then had to drill the stock for the trigger and channel the stock for a transfer rod to trip the sear at its forward location. The inner barrel is a thin wall pvc pipe with a 0.68 inner diameter. I threaded the pipe to match the Tiger Shark body threads. The outer brass tube and bugle end is from the wall art, and slides over the pvc inner barrel.
This beauty fires round ball and First Strike rounds.

That doesn't fit the character of absolutely everything we love on this forum at all... 🫤

        Performance update.
Fires FSR great. Struggles getting velocity with undersized round ball. Currently no way to freak the barrel. This means I will be patching the round ball to get the best fit and velocity. Yet one more step toward the truly absurd. Taking it to Ganza stock weekend.

I tried some tweaking of the barrel, with little change. When I first created this, I reamed the air hole in the power tube to increase air flow. After the barrel test did not show market improvement, I revisited the valve air flow. I filed the valve lip and then wet sanded the file marks. This exposes more of the air hole. If you plan to do this, it would be best to use real tools, like a lathe. Hand filing and sand leave a lot of room for a poor seal.
The valve mod has helped with velocity. Accuracy is still dependent on the paint and the operator. I highly recommend the valve mod when using the Tiger Shark as a starting point.

It's beautiful dude, great work. I'm thinking there should be a larger barrel version, for a type of shotgun multiple ball, or grape shot load
