Looking into doing some mostly 3D printed monstrosity. Does filament count towards the budget or is it considered a consumable? Similarly, I have o-ring kits already on hand, not sure if that also counts as a consumable or should be calculated out against the budget. Perhaps I'm splitting hairs here

if you have a lot of 3D print, i would count it, specially if its the core of the build; for the oring, i wouldn't worry, call it "consumable" 👍.
the budget limit is to make it reasonable and keep it form getting out of hands, were chill and dont take ourselves too seriously around here 😁
if in doubt, dont hesitate asking

Thing files for the grip frame (my CAD), and the body (publicly available already)
      http://thingiverse.com/thing:7318518

I put STLs and STEP files in there.

I should say though, I have never actually printed the grip frame, so it may need some fine tuning. But I did base the CAD off real measurements when I had a borrowed gun from one of you guys on here several years back.

Thats the thing. The verbiage is " at current market value" not what it actually costed you. So day you have a fancy item that you got in a gear lot for next to nothing. Per that rule it seems it still gets valued at market. That rule made me to " oh no" myself. Lmao. But raw stock is fair game, so Im just gonna get my hack saw going.

maybe we need to revise a few things ... i was tryin to avoid someone pulling a whole gun out of the closet ... trying ot make it more accessible and really low cost for entry/participating and poo result😅

But the way it's worded does keep the builds down to "how can i make this awesome in my garage with scrap material" level. You have to fix it for $75, then make it awesome for free.

Since we have to create an individual build thread, should we just post what we use and our estimated value. Then someone can dispute a value in the build thread if there is an issue?

So the barrels that I already have in Ion thread don't count against the 100.00 budget? Also, who has the most cost effective o-ring kits for these?

They would count. Unless stock ion barrels.

The more I think about it, the less worried I am about the budget. These are the barrels I have dug out of storage.

That is probably the only item of real value other than orings and detents that will go on. I might print a body, which is about 2 bucks of filament, but savagely sanding the stock body is currently dominating my thoughts. Truth be told, I will be happy if I just get one to run so I can shoot StaticShocked with it.

Where is the designated place for build threads? I am already cranking out parts and making orders before the markers have arrived.

My two piles of poo are out for delivery today. Excited to get them and take inventory of what needs done to get them operational. I have some fun plans that involve 3D printing with TPU filament. Only planning on getting one going for the challenge, use the other for parts if need be. Following the challenge, I'll likely get the second one operational as well.
