    PB Scalper....

I hope this isn't anyone we know..... So PB Gateway was having a clearance sale on these '04 WGP bodies
and selling them in a 4-pak for just $100 (+shipping). I passed the info on to a few ppl and even sold one
of the bodies for cost to a fellow FB Cocker Group member. Apparently this person bought a bunch and is
Trying to sell them for "DOUBLE". I made sure I dropped him a note on Ebay to let him know, we know....

I think he has a MCB account(I don't know his username tho). Some of the stuff on his eBay page is from here or PBN. Specifically he has a S6.5 that i think iamthelazerviking sold to him.

He sure does, which has been sitting for a while now because he's asking too much. Sold through FB though.

Well that's good that he at least didn't buy it off of here.

Yeah I mean at $25 it's a steal, $50 is still cheap in my book

I've come across his page before. Some stuff is misalabeled, like he has an x valve that's just listed as an "automag valve" but there are some good prices. Cp regs for around $40 for instance

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for free enterprise and making a respectable profit but that just seemed beneath this community.
I guess maybe I'm a little too Old School.... I gave the info free of charge so everyone could enjoy the great price.

I wouldn't call it old school. I'd call it decent.

ah yes, the store where paintball things are curated, i too have frustrations on the buying and reselling of markers for outrageous profits. i once watched a Kapp marker get sold, then pop back up for an extra 200$ to the selling price before it. truly upsetting, and in my opinion kills the fun in finding and building markers for the love of the sport.

I take big issue when people buy full markers for cheap and part them out.
I take issue when people take from this community (MCB) specifically and flip, since the generally mcb population is good to one another. (Sells cheap)

The thing with curated paintball is that, and I don’t have all the details, but if I remember correctly, he ended up with a bunch of stolen angels a while back and made sure they got back to their rightful owners. I don’t know if he gave them back, sold them at cost, or what… but I seem to recall people praising him… even here. Since then, I’ve given dude a pass on my judgments. Also, he does most of his flipping not from MCB and I don’t really see him part markers, at which point… I’m kind of like *shrug*

100%. I've heard the same things, and he seems like a legit decent guy.

Some people just don't get the community aspect of it. Guess all we can do Is all agree not to support their store anymore, hie prices will come down eventually. . There are other members of the community whom have products I want, and they aren't getting my business as a result of similar tactics... just saying.

This is the guy that returned those stolen Angels recently IIRC.

What’s truly repellent is the argument you’ll get from these people if you ever confront them about flipping. They really think they’re honest for charging multiple times their cost for items they are lucky to have. When you point out that when someone (like WGP in this case) actually does the hard work to make and selll a $100 item they are usually lucky to make %10 off it so why should a flipper make %1000?…they’ll just give you some platitude their dad fed them about not being able to poor from an empty vessel or some such tired greedy selfish crap to excuse their scumbaggery.

mah, not a fan of scalpers but pb is a non-essential activity so buying should be with disposable income. Caveat emptor - "buyer beware" it is the responsibility of the buyer to be aware of the conditions/prices associated with the purchase. Don't like the price or the methods the seller is using, don't buy move on. Do not engage with sellers you do not like or respect and they will eventually move on.

That dude is like the biggest flipper on the face of the planet, the only thing curated about him is his ability to scumbag people over on other groups and put it right on eBay for twice the price.

He actually ended up buying a Blazer of mine that was on eBay but I sold many years ago which I confirmed with the original seller never work for him either and this guy claimed that it was working fine somebody got moved on that deal.

This is actually a biggest argument for these guys, that they’re keeping older markers alive. Part one to save five. I still don’t buy into it, however. There are enough partial markers out there that it isn’t necessary to destroy a good working one.

I find it frustrating when people flip things off Facebook, but I don’t hate the player, I hate the game. I take issue when people do it on MCB, because this isn’t the place for them. To me, it’s about intention around here, I don’t expect you to sell at a loss or even to break even, if you bought something and decided it wasn’t for you, then do what you want and we’ll decide to buy or not. It’s when things are bought for the purpose of profiting here that you should be voted off the island.

Lastly, since I want to get in before Price gets absolutely dragged in this thread about his hoarding comments… it’s frustrating when people have markers we want, but… I’m confident that if you open that wallet wide enough, even the hoarders would sell… (at least most of them). If you’re not having luck with it, you don’t have the money for it.

I don't really have a huge problem with flipping in general. If I see a marker or piece of gear that I'm knowledgeable on and its below market price If I have the disposable cash on hand I'm gonna buy it and whatever I end up making on it I look at as my next box of paint covered or hotel room covered for an away game or something to that nature. I've been guilty of buying things for the sole purpose of flipping, but usually stick to ebay, craigslist, facebook for that. Unfortunately this game is a luxury sport and in my 10 years of playing, there's no way I could've gotten what I have/played the amount I have without "flipping" guns/gear to some degree.

As far as parting guns goes, the only issue I have is rare ano matched guns and private label milling guns, If I see a Russian legion shocker being parted on ebay, that one stings a little or that karta emag that was done up in an american flag fade, that one hurt to see.

One aspect of "flipping" that a lot of people don't take into account is the work it often takes to bring a gun back to life in the first place. Recently I picked up a smart parts strange vision impulse for 90 bucks on ebay, when I decide to sell it, I'm gonna probably get 250-300 for it. I probably spent 10 hours of tlc getting that thing to be field worthy again. For whatever reason I tend to get a lot of basket case guns that need a lot of work lol, but I like the challenge too so thats my thing.

One thing I do have a problem with is lieing or playing dumb about your parts/gear. Curated's biggest problem in my opinion is he doesn't do as much do diligence as he should with his marker sales. I don't have a problem if you list your stuff under the parts not working category if you know somethings not right/you don't know for certain that the gun will function fine. However often times he puts used working condition when in fact its not and he knows its not and sometimes he gets burned other times not. If he dealt with less volume, I think he'd be more thorough with his stuff.

The ole “worked last time I used it” or “don’t have air to test” pretty much guarantees a gun that’s gonna have problems.

There's a difference between flipping and reselling though. If I'm buying a cocker here for 300 and then immediately going to sell it on eBay for 400 without doing anything to it, that's reselling.

I flip, that's actually how I get all my paintball money. Nothing comes out of my paychecks to go to paintball. Keeps the wife happy that way. But what I'm doing is buying lots of gear, if you break out the price I'm getting something like a 98c for $20-$30. Typically getting them from people just wanting a quick sell to clean out a closet or something. Then doing rebuild/repair, sometimes paint and selling at around $80-100 depending on parts and what not. That's typically on par with my local market for non rebuilt, mostly stock 98cs. That's flipping, mainly that my work has increased the price, not just putting a different number on the same ad.

Honestly, I have a bit of respect for this guy. He bought a lot of Angels from at East Coast Angel, and he went out of his way to help get Angels to their rightful owners that East Coast screwed over.

If he wants to upcharge a bit, I'm ok with it. I can only imagine how much money he lost on the Angel deal.
