What's with all that coiled hose?

Back in the day that was done as a cheap form of an expansion chamber. The hose itself has enough area inside to store a good chunk of CO2 and if any liquid came in it would boil off before it got to the valve.
It might actually be more efficient at that as the amount of external surface area allows for a much greater amount of thermal transfer vs a dedicated expansion chamber which would keep the same amount of CO2 contacting much less interior space and therefore less thermal transfer through the walls
Now, in this case it's basically not needed as you have the regulator in front of it. While the reg is also not needed as the valve itself has it's own regulator. That one will function as a bit of an x chamber on own.
This really just looks like a collection of parts bin misc. Stuff that someone threw together and called custom

Originally this was owned by the Coyote, but only as bait for the road runner, as everyone knows roadrunners shoot mags ‘cause they’re fast. The plan was when the road runner stepped inside the coiled hose , yoink, the coyote would snatch him up in the snare. Unfortunately for the coyote, it didn’t go as planned, he ended up covered in paint, hilarity ensued , and now the gun is being flipped. Unfortunately that episode never aired.
