Bad listings: “Karnivor Auto Cocker half block hybrid 370”

There are a lot of bad eBay listings out there, but between the shitty A.I. description, highly unflattering pictures (of only the right side), and general lack of useful information this seems to be one of the worst offenders.

It’s probably a pretty safe bet the marker (sorry, “rifle”) itself is a total basket case and nowhere near field ready.

I just find it surprising that the seller looked at the preview before listing and thought, “good enough, list it!”

Judging by the quality of this listing and the general mess and clutter in the background of the pictures their life must be a shitshow.

Basketcase marker aside ---- AI driven listings are really amping up the enshittification of ebay. On the other hand it really gives teh detailed listing a better chance to shine

It’s tough out there guys. Remember not everyone is a Autococker certified JT Flex7 IZe expert. I remember just 4 years ago I couldn’t tell the difference between an old OG flex 7 and a new JT flex.

Not everyone has been infected with paintball HIV/AIDS. Most common people don’t have a clue paintball is even still a thing. Paintball isn’t as cool as paintball players think it is.

All that being said, I saw this eBay sale, it’s priced ridiculously and there no way it works.

Why does everyone get so upset when people participate in the buying and selling of paintball gear, when in reality every sale, high or low goes to help out the sport and keep the game alive.

Given this marker was probably sold new 20-21 years ago I would certainly give somebody a pass on not knowing much about it, especially if the description was something like “This paintball gun used to belong to my dad, I don’t know anything about it, the condition is unknown and it’s being sold as-is.”

But given the wild AI description and absolutely atrocious pictures I think this case reeks strongly of laziness and stupidity (or outright fraud as mentioned by some).

Id argue that's not true. Back when I worked for dirty works the owner was specifically trying to buy up as much of the Bob long parts as he could, mainly for the older markers. Not for some sense to help the players, he specifically was trying to corner the market so he could control the prices.

If he succeeded, and Billy Bob then can't afford an eye cover to keep his timmy running, decides that paintball has become too expensive and leaves the sport, how is that helping paintball?

Toestr you're not wrong, to some extent (for the record I never had a PbN account until I needed a way to get into contact with Keion Doss a year or so ago, and have never been back). There are plenty examples of MCB being not be quite as highbrow and family friendly as you might believe (the banner at one time had a gimp with a rubber fist).

That said, there is the idiom "I don't suffer fools lightly". Well, I don't suffer trolls lightly. This person was apparently offered friendly advice on their listing by members here, but still decided to come here and shit on everything. I find it funny they they claim that many people were interested in it at the listed price, yet it didn't sell, and is still for sale, for more money, with less stuff, nearly six months later.

I definitely called that it’s not functional, which I believe wasn’t in the original listing. What if some 18-year old kid spent their money on this? That’s borderline (if not outright) scammer behavior.
