This feels familiar, I wonder if it's been on here before...

I would be interested in seeing this thing shoot. I built one of these years ago, the valve and spring were a big limitation to the cycle time. The lpr pressure had to be so high, it was pretty harsh on everything.

I had plans to build an MQ2 version but time and motivation got away from me.
"but we all have electros and you guys only have pumps, this wont be fair"

          (chuckling quietly) "we know"

I have one Mq2'ed, and it works really well.

I think I can get one of these meched using one of my heavy hammers, but otherwise I really do think it's almost impossible to get it cycling and hitting velocity without one. It needs something absurdly heavy to make the valve open enough.

That thing would look really good if someone took the time to put a good polish on it

It used to be fairly polished- at least a high satin, if not "mirror" polished. That thing's an easy twenty-plus years old now- that was from roughly the time Pun and I were trying to take up the slack left behind after Sam Tussing disappeared on everyone.

I don't recall how well that one worked, but it seems to me it changed hands a number of times. And yeah, I think pretty much everyone that's made a semiauto PGP has realized you need hose-blowing LPR pressures. This one of mine from a year or two before...

Pretty much had to have the little "top hat" retainers on the hoses, else they'd blow off.

Considering how tough it is to get up to velocity with today's paint, it's probably even worse now.

(PS, when built off a PGP, they used to be called NanoCockers. )

I think to hit velocity, you'd need it rebarreled so it doesn't need a bowling ball to underbore it, and I think one of my tungsten cored hammers. They've normally topped out around 250 or so. I think that combination could get you to 280 with enough juice to cycle. Long story short, that's a massive project.

              My kind of project ๐Ÿ˜‰

I'm going with a Freak bore to help. I might even go with a KP lower tube for the larger hammer. That might get me in the ballpark.
