Is it based on something internally? Sounds like a blow forward spool but I'm taking all the "proprietary" language with a large grain of salt.

Kinda sorta… think of the closed bolt ion.. replace the air spring with a physical spring and add a whole bunch of interference fits to delay the bolt retraction after spool pressure is dumped.. the whole system teters on the edge of operational.
