As a design engineer I find this gun offensive.

Id say he was a successful design engineer in that his idea made it to production. I sit next to a design engineer in my office and he only gets to edit 2d drawings and design brackets and structures for flight test components that will only ever be one off. That being said, not all design engineers are created equal and the dude who designed that gun was suffering from a fever dream or something.Do hard things for fun. Being soft is for sissies. Being an asshole is easy, thats why everyone is one. Being stand up us hard. Be a hard bastard but be respectful.Comment

The title of this post made me laugh as i clicked on it. So true. I wonder if the designer has experience designing power washer wands...
I agree it hurts they eyes. I wonder if it shoots and functions like it looks.Comment

If I remember the story correctly, and I could be wrong, this gun is a clear example of Design by Focus Group.
Not a group of people who currently play.
Not a group of already interested potential new players.
Not a group of currently non-interested potential new players.
But a group of suburban Mothers of currently non-interested potential new players.
I think the questioning was like "if your 12-14 year old son/daughter expressed interest in the game of paintball, which of these designs would you be more likely to purchase for them?"
So no actual players had any input into the design. Just a group of Mom's and some graphic designers, trying to make the least "offensive" paintball gun possible.
Other guns in this category are the BE Samurai, and the Tippmann Triumph.Comment
