Zenitram Y-Framed BKO with AKA volumizer

Wait… I thought the last BKOs came out in 2004. How would it be patent pending for 2005? Not only that, the 2004 had very distinguishable milling and this one is plain. Any ideas? I know the logo could have been etched or engraved after the fact, but the patent pending 2005 bit would be really weird to put on there for the average person.

My understanding is that the Patent office can be REALLY slow...

The BKO is nothing special, maybe $80 tops. It's all about that Zenitram Y-Frame.

This looks like a 2k3 BKO. The 2k2s were either silver with a double diamond pattern on the tubes or green with plain tubes. The 2k3s came in a couple colors & had plain tubes. There were two different 2k3s, the first ones with ICD threaded barrels and the later runs with cocker threaded barrels. BKOs had the LPR mounted vertically behind the HPR until 2004. The 2k4s had nicer milling & had the LPR moved under the barrel like the Bushmasters.

Can the LPR be used on a B2K?

No. The LPR is on the underside of the body and as far as I'm aware isn't compatible with a B2k. The AKA knob up front looks like it's just a Volumizer.

What Myrkul said. That's an AKA volumizer, the LPR is behind the HPR (mounted vertically).

My vocabulary was misplaced. I meant to inquire about the volumizer. Thank you for the additional info though. So the AKA bit is only adding volume and has no ability to adjust regulation?

That's just a volumizer. On early bkos the lpr is in the vasa adapter. That little nipple hanging down.

scottieb Correct. It just adds volume & makes no direct adjustments. Passively, with a different valve & other stuff, you might be able to drop the operating pressure, but the manual says to set it to 250psi & adjust velocity with the LPR. I find that BKOs run best when you follow the manual. A volumizer might help with consistency, but I’ve never had a BKO without one, so I can’t say for sure.
