I know some guys were looking for one of these. Some of us go down some rabbit holes and like to spend more money on blowbacks than we should. Here's someones chance! This isn't mine.

I got a question for you LPK users - is there a way to use the original back cap and side cocking setup or does the hammer require the rear cocking?

Rear cocking was such a hilarious gimmick. Worse in every way than side cocking like VM68's, tippmanns, and original spyders had, but it was slightly more like an autococker so they started forcing it on all the other guns so everyone can get hit in the face mask by a flying aluminum rod.

I guess less debris can get in.

Not sure about using the included hammer with side cocking, but using an aftermarket lightened hammer will allow you to.

You can use the LP bolt with side cocking. The bolts are the same starting point, with some extra machining on the lightened one.


The LP bolt has the two added top holes, the two front through holes, and the extra necking at the front with the O ring. The LP bolt doesn't ship with the aluminum insert found in the standard bolt, which I believe helps keep the spring from fouling inside the bolt. You can just move that aluminum billet over from the standard weight bolt. It needs a touch of file work as they skipped one of the cutting operations on the inside of the LP bolt, and the aluminum core doesn't fit inside by about 0.020" or so.

The total reciprocating masses are:
Standard - 150 g
LP - 102 g
LP Side Cocking - 122 g

For reference as far as mix and match goes, weighed individually (but included above)
Side Handle - 14 g
LP Handle - 17 g
Aluminum Core - 20 g

Edit: There is a small aluminum ring inside the LP hammer that the spring sits on that I didn't bother to weigh separately. Also I did not include the respective springs as reciprocating mass, and they do have different spring rates as far as I know.

Wouldn't the rear cocker aluminum piece somewhat if not totally negate the difference in weight between the side cocking LP hammer?
