$525 they bring that? What makes it so special? I have never see one before. It looks like your standard bore drop back bottle Nelson with a one piece body and barrel. Is that rail on top the thing that makes it unique?

Not a Force Recon, if it was it would be milled into the passenger side of the of the trigger frame rail. Also the Force Recon I have seen were based on Spectre's and had both had milled in the Spectre on the driver side and Force Recon on the passenger side. This is also missing the LAPCO slider trigger frame that became standard early in the 90s. This is a mutt with some LAPCO parts. I'd be interested in it for sub $150 so I could scavenge the parts for other restorations. If you look close to the pot metal frame used that is a WGP frame drilled for swing trigger Sniper II but has the casting marking for being drilled out for a slot for a slide trigger Autococker.

By the way the LAPCO Spectre markers were the more economy versions of the Grey Spirit when sold new and the Force Recons were late production units after Colin left Paintball Connections mid 90s.

Edit - I might be wrong on this given what is said in this article. I knew Colin was using up part stock late in the Mid-90s as demand for Nelsons waned and it looks like this particular marker was talked about in this article given the image similarities:

Still not worth the asking price in my opinion it still is a Mutt marker just one put together by LAPCO. The ball end mill accent in the trigger frame is to hide a blemish...etc.

Are true complete Force Recon worth that much? I have never seen that style older marker sell for over $150. Just curious as I often over look them. But if there are $500+ Diamonds in the rough I’m going to start paying more attention.

I am suspecting that price is based on the collector who needs that last LAPCO to finish a collection. Again regardless of the "history" this is a Nelson made from left over parts so IMHO a mutt. $150 would be my limit and I'm a LAPCO whore.
