Venmo does NOT offer a buyer or seller protection program. That's kind of a red flag.

Venmo is owned by PayPal and it does offer buyer protection if you send the payment NOT as a friends or whatever, like how PayPal works as well

Yes, I am aware that Venmo is now owned by PayPal, but according to Venmo themselves, they do not offer buyer/seller protection.
