They are neat markers (or niche markers?). I have an old work friend who bought one and it worked pretty good as long as you kept it clean (no paint residue in the ignition pot). I used to have to "fix" his occasionally when he did not take care of it for a week or two. In an outlaw pump only situation I think it was an ingenious solution (which we played a lot).

bought one of these brand new from Dunham's Sports back in the early 2K's i think. never got it to work sadly and it had to go back to the store.
