      They are neat in concept. Played with one when Myrkul owned one.

        Neat concept, horrible in reality. Cool as a collectors piece, but really frustrating to actually field.

          Looks to be a Blade II based on its having a vertical ASA in addition to the grip bottom bottle setup.

          As stated before, it was a neat concept. In practice these are heavy guns. Doc mentioned he might be able to lighten one up if you wanted to give him some $$$.

            I just now dug into the patent images. That is a lot of real estate before the barrel, wonder how it'd do with small paint.

            It does terrible with any paint. The reversible breach likes to shift around a fair amount.....

          I also thought they looked uncomfortable.

            It's pretty much a Spyder Clone and it weighs a ton.

              Not to be that guy but it actually pre-dates the Spyder. Spyders were just what happened when STBBs went fully generic. VM68/PMI-3s started the design, the F1 Illustrator put it on a diet, and then a slew of low production odd balls like the Blade hit the market. Kingman didn't do anything innovative with the STBB besides hauling shipping containers over from China.

              @Rusty Brass

              Do you know where the Line SI Promaster fits in? I always thought they were the original stack tube blowback, I could be wrong though.

              Early for sure but they were never really on my radar. Looking at Vintage Rex it appears I might be full of it but I'm kind of doubting the info I'm seeing there. I remember PMI-3s being around in my freshman year which would have been '90-'91 and it's saying they came out in '92. The F1 was right there with it as well. The Line SI could have been first but if that's the case it would have been a photo finish and it never really got traction.

            It was a quick and sloppy answer.

            I'm pretty certain the Spyder is based on the Line Si Promaster, they have a lot of similarities. I always thought the PMI-3/VM-68 was the first STBB.
