How far back do the forums go? Was there a reset?

I am rechecking in with the forums here, I used to be a very active member, but it seems like my login no longer works, so I am on a new account. Was there a database reset? I mainly came to look around as going through my stuff I found a NIB 3357

Who's still around from the early 2000's?

    pic for some forum nostalgia

There was an unfortunate event that took place, and MCB had to be rebuilt. A lot was lost. But welcome back to the new and improved!

Thanks for the welcome, I am going through my collection, I most likely will have a lot of rare markers and parts available, I haven't been able to play and have just been sitting on years of collecting worth of parts and markers.

Long story short, cryptolock pirates got into the MCB servers, and basically asked a crazy amount of money for the return of the MCB files...

. Its being rebuilt slowly, but a lot of information was lost in the attack.

Ive veen here since as long as I recall. ( I was Chl2onic on the old forums) i was far from active unless I was buying stuff. So Im sure I was a total unknown. Now a days Im sure everyones sick of me as Im on here constantly as of late.

Those patches are sick. I wouldnt mind rocking one of those on my sleeve if I could still get one.

I only have one carters commando patch, but I think I have 3 of the C4 patches, PM me and i'll get your info to get one sent out to you.

        I probably haven't logged in since 2010-2012ish

My old forum name was Sal as well, and I was very big into the collecting, I have a TON of old brass eagle nightmare(both brass and aluminum bodies)/poison/jaguar parts i believe as well as quite a few tippmann SMG 60/68 parts guns, guns and stuff, I need to go through all of my stuff to see what I even have left, probably about time I move it on to someone who will actually do something with it.

Welcome back Sal, I was previously know as Carp13.. 😉 A lot of old members have still yet to resurface. But, it's still good to see more and more return. Even if, it is just to purge their horde of markers and bits.

There has been a few resets since the early 00s, but this was forced. Its mostly back to normal, but the scourge of "facebook" forums have hurt more then any hacker. Its just so easy to setup a facebook forum.... but they just make a terrible format for forums. But thats progress I guess.

I have that old patch somewhere in my patch collection. Back in the late 80s, early 90s, every team was expected to have a team patch. Plus tournaments, events, manafacturers, etc, all gave away patches. It was great. My favorite patch was from "Team Internet" back from around 93-94. Good old days

I think the forum goes back to 2003. This is the third iteration. For the Commando, I have hard evidence to the exact year:

Nice, I guess I should have been more clear, I was curious as to how far back the history of the forum was as far as saved posts, vs the actual full age of the forum. I was very active since very early on, mostly through my high school days, which was 2002-2006, tapered off the few years following and pretty much haven't been around since probably 2009-2012 maybe, due to life events that started in 2009. I finally got a chance to play paintball again, and while digging through my gear I came across a lot of old/good stuff that I feel like should be passed on.

Ah. The forum went down just about one year ago and everything older than that is lost, sadly. Although, some of the guys have dug around on The Wayback Machine to find and rebuild old content

I'm still here from 2004ish. Have the commando patch pictured on the top.

It's been a long and bumpy road with a couple resets. Glad to have you back.

A good amount of knowledge lost for sure.

It reminds me of the old r.s.p and a.s.p forums from the 90s. They were a fantastic wealth of knowledge from the early days. Wanted to know exactly when the automag came out? look for its first mention on a.s.p (alt.sport.paintball). You could search going back to the 80s using archive sites like dejanews. But then google bought them out and slowly.... slowly broke functionality to "encourage" people to use google groups.

So sad to loose all that information. There is a new usenet archive at.... usenetarchive.com but so far it has been useless
