    Oh geez, that's something else. Rats are nasty. I'd probably just hire a pro at that point if they are bad.

      spring traps are the only ones that worked effectively for me.

      I had like 5 of them nailed to a board and would insert the long board under my house as i found incursion points and sealed them up.

      Sometimes I'd come back to a full rack.

      They are pretty gruesome sometimes but I never clean them and the rats would still find their way to the peanut butter and their doom.

      I had a bucket trap I made it worked sometimes but mostly not. Big rats find their way out. A tin bucket might work better (no grip for claws)

      I bought a 60 dollar electronic zapper that killed a rat ONE time but not since. Its not easy to clean and I dunno a spring loaded death machine is kinda better...but not safe around kids.
