    Train Ride.

I needed to take the Commuter Rail from Ipswich Mass. to Central Square Lynn yesterday, usually a boring and uneventful ride. The Ipswich station usually has 3 or 4 passengers as well as myself going Inbound. Yesterday, the platform was packed, easily 60 people. All in costumes. I forgot that it's Halloween, and everyone is going to Salem to get gloriously drunk and raise Hell. Every stop South, more costumed people got on, at Salem, everyone got off and I had the train to myself.

And the "ghost in the woods" didn't attend? Shame on you Jeff! But glad to hear you're still with us.

I love Salem. Especially the architecture. When I lived up north I would travel there several times a year.
Most often for All Hallows but it changed in the late 90's, going from a traditional Samhain to more of a hollywood schlock version after Laurie Cabot left the city council.
Too bad really, Salem was even in the guinness book of world records for being the most religiously diverse city in the world.

Nah, I don't do the Salem thing this time of year. Too crazy. My Mother was a good friend of Laurie's, both in the same Coven. I grew up with Laurie and her daughters in my house most of the time. They had a bit of a falling out years ago over the money thing. It would seem as some wish to use Wicca as a money maker, some want to keep it serious. It always comes down to money I guess.

Not much, it's kinda cold, rainy and miserable so the Cosplay boobies were well covered.

When I was a kid, we took many field trips to Salem. It wasn’t as crazy then. A few occult shops, and the house of seven gables.

I used to be fascinated by its secret room. I didn’t find out until later that story was made up for the tourists
