Happy First Day of Advent Calendars!

Being December 1st it’s the first day of Christmas Advent calendars. My kids love them! This year we’ve got the Lego Star Wars and Lego Harry Potter ones.

Y'know, I've never done an advent calendar.

This is the year! Go grab one. They have booze, chocolate, lego, coffee etc.

We have a nice reusable fabric one that hangs in front of the fire place (don't use it for fires). Has pockets with each day on them. Put a little Santa in the first pocket and then move him as each day goes.

Daughter is starting to get into it and moving Santa around haphazard for the moment .

As a kid we had a tree that you would hang small ornaments on each day to count up.

We has a reusable cloth one with a little mouse to move from pocket to pocket as a kid. Our kids love the one with chocolate for each day.

This year my wife should me with one that has a different beer for each day.

I've have a few beer advent calendars. Lots of fun even if I don't manage to drink a beer every day. Usually have some really wild flavoured beers in them as well.

Wife and I are doing the Aldis wine advent calendar. Should be fun.

We also have a cloth one that looks like a tree and you Velcro an ornament on it each day.

Opened the month with a shot of espresso, and an aero pressed cup of Krampus Peaberry coffee.

Id say it was a sweet/ sour, chocolatey cup of awesome.

Im lookibg forward to the next 23 mornings.

Sounds like I have the same one Nish had and maybe the same one as Blachance. The kids fight over changing them every day. My son got the Harry Potter Lego one this year and my daughter got a charm bracelet one.

YES! That middle one is the exact same one I had growing up. Same picture and everything

I literally ordered the same exact thing... and someone stole the Harry Potter Potter out of the box in transit (but left the Star Wars?). So my girl is getting Peppa Pig instead. I think my wife is disappointed... thr HP Legos were really for her.

Would have thought they would have stolen the Star Wars over Harry Potter. Guess they were still mad about the last Star Wars movies…

As a kid I always had the advent candle. Now I wait until after Christmas and buy the whisky advent calendar when it's on clearance then stash it away until December. I was able to pick up a wine advent calendar for my girlfriend that she's going through this year.
