Need Help - Trying to Locate .pdfs of Graphic Novels

    Hello!
For those who do not know, I teach film and comics (superhero mythology, etc.) for a meager living and tons of entertainment - LOL. With the pandemic, I have an issue. A lot of my graphic novels for the courses I teach are not available anymore by being out of print and have inflated to 100+ dollars per novel. I have been given permission to locate .PDF files to "share" with students, but I am not locating those files in .pdf format.

I have explored options of comixology and other subscription services, but there are some issues with the sites being accessible on the school network. Also, students are limited by available technology to access the subscriptions. It was suggested that if I had .pdfs of the Graphic Novels, they can be placed on reserve through the digital library where students can "upload" to them to read them on campus. Where can I find these .PDFs?

    All the best,

    Smiley

Good question. What novels are you looking for?

If you find anything out about this, please let me know. I teach a visual communication class and this could be useful to me.
Additionally I have a pdf for class of Scott Mccloud's Understanding Comics. If you do not have this, shoot me a message.
Need Inception Designs or Shocktech Products? Let me know!

I am looking for all kinds of Graphic Novels... just to name a few:

Superheroes: A Never Ending Battle film series available through the Library’s Films on Demand database (Do a search using the term “superheroes.” The film series will be the third item in the resulting list of documentaries).
          Ø Margaret Atwood’s Handmaid’s Tale.
          Ø Vera Brosgol’s Anya’s Ghost.
          Ø Will Eisner’s The Dreamer.
          Ø John Lewis’s March.
Ø Alan Moore’s Batman: The Killing Joke.
          Ø Alan Moore’s Watchmen.
          Ø Keiji Nakazawa’s Barefoot Gen.
Ø Yoshitoki Oima’s A Silent Voice. (This is a Manga—please be sure this is an English version)
Ø Marjane Satrapi’s The Complete Persepolis (Vols. 1 & II).
Ø Art Spiegelman’s Maus (Books I & II). Various editions available from Pantheon Press.

You can find most of those on torrent sites. Are you familiar with how to download torrents?

Guys…I’m pretty sure soliciting and linking to straight up PIRATE media isn’t allowed on the forum.

Besides Watchmen, Killing Joke, Understanding Comics, and many others mentioned aren’t even a little hard to find and aren’t expensive either. I could have half this stuff as soon as the shops open in the morning. Hell, most public libraries have some of this stuff. Check them out for free and make your own PDFs.

If you're going to say that we shouldnt post or mention torrent sites then you should know that making copies of anything that you dont own, even for personal use, is also illegal. The library owns the media and you're not supposed to reproduce it. You're only renting it. Just saying, bro, if you want to go there at least be consistent.

Hello! I appreciate the concern. I would greatly do that if I knew how to convert them to PDF, or had the technology to scan page by page. Majority of these graphic novels are "out of print" and the book store or library can't get copies. But if you can help, just PM me. I don't want to cause trouble on here.

                        All the best,
