Yeah for 33 million you can have your own legally recognized town with 1300 + acres and post office and yourself as mayor.
If you hold back 15 milllion you could have a paintball tournament that LOSES 300,000 dollars for 50 YEARS
Thats the highest paying best paintball event on the planet YOURS for only 15 million dollars. After much less than 50 years you would start becoming profitable as you would be the defacto head of the entire sport by being the head of this one event that then becomes an entire tournament series because essentially its a game show and the teams competing (the equipment is relatively low cost) know that winning the prize is going to jump start their entire life. And if it becomes popular you could increase the price to make it even MORE of a national spectacle. In a stock class speedball format. Go watch world chase tag to see an idea of what an actual athlete is capable of. Imagine that level of athleticism coming to tournament paintball. It would be an Olympic sport without question but by then it wouldn't need the Olympics to gain validity.
All of this, yours for less than the price of that home.
Not even assuming some of this money is in the stock market and yields returns over the course of 50 years.

Just imagine the precision, like there is in moto GP where if a rider gets like half a second ahead of another rider the race announcers are like "Yep this race is over he will statistically never catch up unless freak mechanical failure which also would not be exciting"
In paintball there would be a shooting range that is fully dodge able by good players, and then a range where only the best players can consistently dodge paint and the lesser ones catch shots, and then a range where its virtually guaranteed to be a hit because of the speed of human movement and gravity and the guarantee of the perfection of the tournament paintballers accuracy.
Sorry pipe dream, and why I hate the garner bros because they could make an actually good tournament like this if they gave a damn about paintbal, but they suck and don't and choose just to profit as much as the cheaziest cheezeball marketing guy predicts they could.

You couldn’t pay me to live in LA.
I would never want to live in any city. Don’t even want to be close to one. Give me a remote A-frame in the woods on the biggest piece of F U land I can find. Small functional house with a big garage full of toys and tools. The more natural resources the better.

No one asked for a professional architectural critique, but I'm going to offer my semi-professional opinion anyway!!!
First off, the price. At ~13,000 square feet, $33,333,333 comes out to about $2500 per square foot, which seems absurd at first (most houses these days are $200-300). But given the engineering and steel it would take to build those huge walls of glass, along with the extensive landscaping, and the engineering and concrete require for that, it really sounds about right. Add in the price of the lot, which I can only imagine was exorbitant.
I have a few critiques, mostly about the interior finishes and/or interior design. First off, the giant pink walk-in shower in the exercise room or massage/sauna room is really weird. It eats up a lot of space and it looks like almost none of it is really usable. The color is also weird. They also committed a cardinal sin of architectural design in that exercise room, where you can see straight into a water closet from a public area. You should never be able to see a toilet until you enter the bathroom. Third, the colors and textures in the theatre room are not to my taste, but I acknowledge that it's very much a personal preference here. It's also a little weird to be to see such standard wall treatments in the kitchen and living room areas. Felt a little cheap for such an expensive house.
Other than that, I actually really like it. The design is cool, very effectively capturing the views available on the lot. This extends thru the multiple levels of the house; even bedrooms in the basement, facing the side of the lot, still get incredible views of the valley. I also really like the use of unconventional angles. The kitchen island, bedrooms, etc, being at a ~60* angle makes it so much more dynamic than strict 90* angles. Speaking of the kitchen, I really like the way it's laid out. The work pantry is a nice way to keep a lot of the mess out of public view, and having the cooktop be on the island is always nice for entertaining. I also really like waterfall countertops. I like the bedrooms, and how the bathrooms are kind of hidden behind them. It's kind of an upscale design idea that I really like. I like that there is some indoor/outdoor play, with some circulation spaces taking you outside. And I like the fireplace, how it feels monolithic.
So yeah, overall that's a very cool house. I wished I lived in a climate where such design concepts were plausible. As it is, it's much too cold here. So it's very unlikely that I'll ever be able to design something like this, and that makes me a little sad.
