got quote for roof around 7.7k for part of roof has angle for it. then got part for around 2k for the flat roof why would be asking for flat roof when i do not have part of roof that is flat

You need 3 quotes. If that is your first one, you have no idea if it is competitive or not. I wouldn't worry about what materials and type of roof is called, that is what you are paying professionals to do, install it properly.
Get 2 more quotes and compare. Check reputation and ask for other work that company has done, so you can hopefully see it. Fixing a new roof is horribly expensive.
Also, don't let your perception make the decision on who to hire, I had some grizzly looking guys do excellent work. If they are licensed, warrantied, and have a good reputation then I'm open to their bid.

Just ask them to explain it. As a contractor I'm sometimes doing multiple quotes in a day and every now and then I make a mistake or don't clarify things properly. Also as a contractor I'd much rather the customer called me than just get frustrated or confused and toss my quote in the trash.

Something else to consider - a re-roof is the best time to add radiant barrier or insulation. If you're in a hot climate, it makes a huge difference, especially if your ductwork is in the attic.Feedback
