The One (Musical Instrument) That Got Away

Any musicians here miss an opportunity to get a limited release or classic/collector instrument that came up for sale? Back in 07 or 08 Tama released 100 the most beautiful drum sets to grace our presence, the Warlord Masai. I couldn’t afford one then, but a few years ago one popped up and I flippin missed it! Haven’t seen one since, feel so lost and alone. What’s the one that got away from you?

My friend offered to let me borrow his Theremin the other day... but I only have one usable arm. Partially got away?

If that’s the “outer space” sounding instrument you wave your arms over, I can sympathize. I want to try one too if the opportunity comes. I hope you can get your shot as soon as you recover. I’d say it counts as a loss.

There have been a few but the one that really sticks out isn't specifically a limited release.
I had the opportunity to buy Tucker Rule's kit from Thursday. Specifically his tangerine sparkle Ayotte kit with wood hoops. I thought it was super cool to have a chance to own one of my favorite drummers kits. I couldn't come up with the funds in time and missed it.

1970s Ibanez Destroyer went cheap in an auction I failed to bid on.

Those destroyers are amazing. Way better than the explorers. Not sure what it is but they got that mojo.

Can’t remember the price but I had a chance to pick up a Pearl Export set w/all Zildjian cymbals & an additional floor tom for less than what just the drums went for back then. Couldn’t come up with the cash.
