It's expensive because each "shot" with a supercollider like that costs several million dollars, and only produces maybe a few hundred anti-atoms.
Calculate out a "few hundred" into however many it would take to make a gram, by X millions per shot, and sure, $2.7 quadrillion (which is the correct way to say it) is not a surprise.
But it's also a misleading number, since only very, very, very tiny amounts are ever made. It's kind of like Tritium- sure, tritium costs something like $30,000 a gram, but you can still buy a set of pistol sights for $100-$200 because each one only uses a tiny fraction of that gram.
