    Non-Paintball Collections - What's Your Other Vice?

Paintball took a backseat this year with the birth of our second daughter, which found me browsing the internet a lot more (especially during the late night feedings).

Strangely enough while paintball has been on the back burner I have had more opportunities to get back into playing golf, and channeling my hoarder mentality (coupled with the free time mentioned above) discovered an entirely new addiction or money pit as it were:

    Vanity Putter Covers!

Much like the limited edition items that I think we have all seen offered much more frequently for paintball (JT proflex anything, etc), golf has a very extensive list of custom shops, all of whom put out small quantities of funny, unique, and of course expensive items for the golf bag.

So I pose the question to the MCB community, what other non-paintball related items do you find yourself collecting like they are going out of style?

Here is a sample of my current but rapidly expanding collection:

Concert tickets and festival wristbands. I’m seeing something at least once a week.

Sports mem/cards. Mainly Blues hockey for my collection, although I deal in all sports.

In the past year or so, my paintball gear buying habit gave way to buying a crapload of fishing gear. All told, I probably now have more spinning, baitcasting, and fly fishing setups than I do markers. That's not even including things like the fishing kayak and all of the other gear, lures, flies, and so on. When a new hobby sinks its teeth into me. I tend to go all in.

Mopar Hot Wheels. Used to pick them up while grocery shopping as my kids loved them. Have a nice little collection and now that the grocery store no longer sells them I rarely grocery shop...

I tend to collect hobbies, or at least I did until returning to paintball gave me something towards which to better focus my obsessiveness. For 2020, my resolution was not to acquire any more hobbies, something my wife gleefully pointed out when I started playing paintball again. True to my profession (lawyer), I retorted that I was not acquiring a new hobby, merely resurrecting an old one from 20 years of dormancy.

Prior to paintball eating my brain? I seem to have been collecting replacement parts for my '79 MGB that I'll get around to installing one day, sooner or later, really, I swear.

I haven't actively pursued it in years, but I used to collect miniature liquor bottles. Most are still displayed in our china cabinet. I particularly like those which are scaled down versions of full sized bottles that have distinctive shapes. As far as collecting hobbies go, it is relatively cheap and takes up little room.

i actually found a duffle bag full of kittens at a bus stop once. i called the non-emergency police number and spoke with the local authorities. they asked me if the kittens were moving. i said i didnt know but that would sure explain the duffle bag and the bus stop.

Skateboarding and collecting Boards. I have been skating since I was around 12 and I’ll be 50 in a month and still have that first deck from back then. Slams hurt more nowadays and I now just cruise and carve the bowls doing some grinds but still love it and can’t help buying decks all the time that are hung up on the walls around the house.

Yeah? I like that. I had gone hunting for a set for my kid, but was surprised that all the decent ones cost and arm and a leg these days. I ended up finding a huge bag of knights and bow men at a swap meet - we both love em!

                      Kites, big ass kites.

I like all kites, but if you don't need to harness into it, it's not as fun

That looks like it belongs in a museum. Does that say 1795?

I've been collecting vintage sidearms. My German collection is pretty much filled, now on to British, American, and Russian.
