It seems underwhelming.
Now consider if you're deep enough to have some real pressure, and it might be even less... whelming?
I bet something more spear-like, with a nice wide channel that tapers into a little nozzle right at the tip, would get a lot more energy. (It's still limited by the size of the hole in the 12g, though.) The fact that it didn't blow the guy's hand back as soon as he pressed the button was the moment I knew it was going to disappoint. A bunch of energy in a hundredth of a second is way more interesting than a little energy over 2 or 3 seconds.
Maybe a hole on each side of a big needle shape, so the forces cancel out, to help keep it in the target?Feedback
