My girlfriend was supposed to fly back from Nashville today. Her connecting flight through BWI was already delayed past when her flight back home was supposed to leave so she already had to change to later flights to try and make it back. She was originally supposed to be back at 7:20 but now won't get here until 11. This whole system is obviously too fragile

Apparently, the same thing happened to the Philippines on Jan 1st, and then to Canada on the 12th (the day after the US grounding).

Oof. My friend landed in Manila for a 3 week trip and his luggage was still in Toronto (and wouldn't be arriving).

I see this and all I think is hmmmm do I want to fly or should I just suck it up and drive to visit family in the US (Bronx NY and Atlanta GA) 8 hours for one and 16 hours for the other that said I can always stop along the way etc AND I don't deal with airline lineups, baggage claim, clearing customs (other than at the initial border crossing) etc and I will say I did enjoy the journey to both places when I was younger so I doubt I'd hate it now as an adult.

It's been a rough couple years for getting from point A to point B. Port congestion, trucker protests, railway strikes, airline software, now this?
