I noted Axel did a 'repost' of the rules. From the old site we were supposedly "G" rated, but thought there was some group decision NOT to do that on the new site? I have been cussing like a sailor.

I've seen one post get the wagging finger over naughty words.
But I agree with keeping it G rated. For one thing, it encourages folks to use real language.
People who use profanity are people who don't know English
So, get creative! It doesn't take profanity to call something "A bloated sack of rat vomit".

Two separate things.
Anything outside of the Members only section we would like everyone to try to keep it rated G. The discussion you remember did happen but it was specifically about the Bar and Grill area. Literally "A place we can all loosen our ties and let loose more than usual - This section is not for the kids!"
Without any filters for profanity or anything along those lines set up yet this hasn't been enforced but is still a rule "on the books" and we would like people to do their best to watch their mouths.
Doesn't mean jump down everyone's throat when they type a bad word, but try to bleep yourself and if anyone is going overboard let us know. We are trying and everyone has their hands full right now.Originally posted by MAr "... Nish deleted it..."

I think that was Sam Clemens or Ben Franklin, but I could be wrong.

With the availability of disgusting and inappropriate things at one's fingertips I have a hard time accepting that swears on a niche chunk of the internet is something to be concerned about. As a Yankee this harms my ability to convey emotion without sounding like a dowdy professor.💀 PK x Ragnastock 💀

Nobody is planning a crusade against naughty language. As Nish said, it hasn't been strictly enforced lately, although it is technically still on the books. Just stick to the Bar & Grill, keep it to a minimum out here in the public space, and it's unlikely to be made an issue.
Personally, I'm much more concerned that we all adhere strictly to rule #1 and be excellent to each other--the rest of the rules naturally outflow from that foundation.Dulce et decorum est pro comoedia mori
