Why anyone would spend that much money on a chunk of carbon is beyond me. Diamonds were basically worthless until De Beers came up with some slick marketing. Diamonds aren't as rare as they would have you believe. -
Something about knowing your purchase was supported by the oppression of others really raises the value.
Haha, in my defence, my wifes rock I traded a nelspot 007, a pimped ule mag, and 900 cash for an engagement ring from a well known collector on facebook.
i had the rock re set in a different band, all in all I got out much cleaner than most.Comment

I am really grateful for it honestly. It was a win on many levels.
I would have never gotten such a nice rock. Not only is if a bit bigger than he figured, I would have had a hard time coming up with enough scratch to buy the assumed size stone.
My wife also appreciated it even more than cash as I was selling some of my burdensome paintball collection to buy her a ring. She knew it took a lot for me to let that mag go. Lol

the whole notion of a diamond engagement ring was created by a company that sells diamonds. they are designed to be as confusing as possible and have ZERO intrinsic value.
