    2023 NHL Playoffs

So I don’t normally watch hockey, but I’m making an effort to watch the playoffs this year. Caught the Wild/Stars game earlier today & am currently watching the Oilers/Kings game. Still learning the ins & outs of it, as I don’t know much about it. And WI isn’t exactly a hockey state, so I don’t know who I’d like to win the whole thing. But I’m having fun.

I’m sure a fair number of you folks are watching. Let’s have a discussion thread.

Well, my local NHL team failed to make playoffs, but rooting for one of the Canadian teams to make it to the next round. Looking like that might just be Leaf’s…. Boston looks to be the team to beat so far this playoffs though. Like to see Seattle do well but Avs will be very hard to beat.

Madison has some good hockey teams. Not NHL but national champions years ago (ncaa).

But to the topic a few overtime games last night were great.

I hear about the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) from time to time, but not much otherwise. I’d like to go to a game of theirs sometime. UW-Stevens Point I believe has both men’s & women’s hockey, so we might try to go to a few of those next season.

I would have expected hockey to be popular in Wisconsin.

I was a Blackhawks fan for years, but with their glory days long over and all the familiar faces gone I've jumped on the Leafs bandwagon.

What a wild series they're having with Tampa. Seems like every play ends with a fight.

Nope- it’s all about the Packers here. The Brewers are popular as well, but even they are drowned out by Packers talk.

For hockey, we do have some Wild & Blackhawks fans, but they’re few & far between.

I’m an NHL addict since I could skate around 5 or 6 years old. Ughhhh so around 45 years. Black and Gold “BRUINS” fan here for all of those.

            Rangers all the way

but.................when you have a team like the B's, and see a game where Ullmark dukes it out with Tkachuk and draw a game misconduct, well, the rest of the league had better figure on Boston doing whatever it takes to win the Cup.

Brandon, sorry bro, even though the Utica Comets play like 20 miles from me, I hate the devils, with an intense passion .its gonna come done basicall to tonites( mondays ) game at the Garden
if the Rangers can get up 3/1 on NJ, I really think its desperation time for you guys. tied after tonight, its going a full 7 and its gonna be a barn burner of a series.

Rangers have been on their game. They have those vets that have lots of playoff experience. Thats what the Devils are lacking, I don't see them making it out of the first round but from where they were last season it's been astonishing to see the growth of the Devils this season.

My son played in the Utica Comets arena at the start of the youth hockey season (22-23). Its an impressive facility and they just added like 2 or 3 more sheets of ice. We are a Devils family, so he was so excited to play there. We live only 45 min south of the Devils ECHL affiliate the Adirondack thunder, we try to get out to see them as much a possible.

Since the Pens were crap this year I'm rooting for whoever the Bruins play against, then the Oilers and Wild secondarily.

It’s been weird not having the pens to watch. I’m not overly attached to any other teams so I hope they all have fun.

Except the Leafs, I hope they lose in the first round because it’s funny to me.

the albany area has had its share of AHL teams over the years,
was a big fan of the comets when vancouver was the parent team, and still enjoy having a thriving team in Utica
the comets won their first round and now face the marlies...................only despise toronto and the marlies more than n.j
but then again, the leafs cant count past 4 so they aint much of a problem either.
the leafs are like the oilers, so much talent wasted, so much money wasted....

i still gotta get over to the new Nexus center in Utica, it will be really exciting when the IIHF bring the gals in for their tourney next year

We took my son to a Marlies VS Albany Devils game years ago and that's what got him hooked on hockey. All we have now in Albany is Indoor Lacross at the MVP Arena

Devils fan through and through. I grew up playing defense with Scott Stevens and Ken Daneyko as my role models. This young, fast, play maker style hockey isn't the Devils' hockey that I remember but it is exciting to watch! Let's go Devils!

Big win for the Jersey boys last night! Let's hope they don't get stage fright when they get back to the Rock for the next couple of games.

Hughs is an absolute beauty with that first period goal. He's made a couple of good hits also, stepping out of his comfort zone. Superstar on the rise!

Yeah that kid is something special. And if he ignitesthr rest of the young talent on that squad, they will be a force to be reckoned with.
