    Old Forums???

So what happened while I've been gone these past few years? All the old accounts and posts are deleted?
Tried to log in to my old account, and "no such e-mail found".... maybe I'm just forgetting what e-mail I used....
Tried to find my posts about paintball in China, and I guess they just were from too long ago and got wiped? Damn, that was only 2015-ish....
    Alas! Gone. All shall fade.

The hackers did follow through on the threats and sold our passwords on the black market. Not long after it happened, google alerted me to as such.
So it was a win-win for the hackers. They were paid either way, but we lost a trove of valuable information.

I do feel bad for the percentage of users, probably large, that were not aware of the situation and still use the MCB password at other sites. Before you poo-poo anyone who reuses passwords, the reality is that the average person might have 100's of accounts that need passwords. It is not realistic to think that you might have a unique one for each.

damn, they have my password to PBN... well, they've had enough time to get me banned and it hasn't been long enough for me to try logging on to PBN and noticing.

Eh... probably just posted it on the dark web for grins. No one is paying for a list of credentials from some hole-in-the-wall forum. That said, it is realistic to think that for any website as all modern browsers include a password manager protected by your operating system security certificate(s). For techies, I shun anyone that reuses a password. PW managers have been around for decades - even with 2 factor authentication.

Hey, right on, yeah, that's me. Clever boy, lurking and doxing me like that. Guess not many posted about Chinar slingin', though....

Shitty deal, the hax0rs raiding our beloved bastion of 'ball. But thanks for letting me know. I feel better (is that bad?) knowing that it wasn't just like: "you're old news, pal!" *delete*

As an update on the Chinar paintball situation, paintball is actually became MORE illegal here, if you can believe it. (Proving once again the only thing governments are good for is ruining your fun.)
Papa Xi, the harmonious leader, just eradicated -- by fiat authority -- all "weapons" (read: "toys") that shoot pretty much anything. So even our lame-ass "waterball" or "gelball" blastin' has all but gone the way of the Dodo.... although you can still buy NERF guns! Isn't that special?
But actually I've found out how to search the Chinese equivalent of Amazon (Taobao) and actually found some forgotten shitty airsoft pistols and one copy-pasted Tokyo Marui 1911 that has been modded for gelball'n. So Chinar is still being Chinar with the whole 'rule of law' thing. God bless them.

Honestly, it's making me want to GTFO this fuckin' police state, though. No one will play anymore, because everyone is scared of Skynet and Da Ge (Big Brother) and getting invited for Tea at the police station (and summarily deported). But the rest of life is so good, it's hard to imagine going back to living paycheck to paycheck on "the Moon". What a sad, sad existence we live if we choose our "developed" Western lives.... basement apartments and NOT being able to order food delivery every meal and get drunk every night, etc..... The Orient is still much more livable. And cheap. And full of gorgeous women. So I'll continue to Nabob it for a while, I guess.

You all may think I'm retarded, but I'm actually considering moving to Taiwan, into the possible (and likely) flashpoint of WWIII, as paintball and especially airsoft are alive and well, there... and I need my obsessio --erm, "hobby".

Let me know if you want to know anything more about life over here, paintball in Asia, etc.
Anyway, great to be back in the community.

Isn’t paintball severely limited in Asia.

Canada restricts anything that “looks like a gun” but don’t Asia have extreme velocity restrictions. I remember Dye having to make fixed LPR to sell in that market due to velocity restrictions. Or has that changed?

The bill that was going to ban realistic looking airguns was amended to remove that section. There is apparently going to be more industry consultation so I wouldn't be surprised if we see something similar come back later though.

Ok well that’s a win for the Canadian airsoft/magfed community I suppose for now. They have tried time and again in the US but I can’t see it ever getting passed. Gun culture in the US is to ingrained in our society. The propaganda machine would tell you otherwise but the silent majority sill believe in freedom over fear.
