My wife let her sister borrow her car a few years ago and her sister chain smoked in it the entire time with the windows up. She then tried to cover it up by spraying bottles of perfume and other sprays in the car. The car smelled so bad that I couldn’t get in it. It smelled like a skeazy track marked stripper.

We bought an ozone machine from Amazon and after 1 cycle I was shocked how it eliminated the smell. I ended up scrubbing the entire car after that and ran it again and you’d never know someone smoked in the car. They aren’t overly expensive, less than $100 if I remember right.

You need to spend more on your strippers.

Thankfully most of the smell has dissipated, but a few areas in the house still smell. I’ve got an air purifier I might try but the ozone machine sounds like a solid solution if it persists. Thanks for all the ideas!

This is less immediate, and who knows if it would affect burnt fish smell, but these really do work wonders for fixing general human stench. https://www.amazon.com/Purifying-Act...xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

Think of smell like fire smoke. Go to where the event started and scrub everything down with baking soda/vinegar slurry, clean up until dry then scrub with straight soap. If the floor is carpet, shake a whole box of (dry) baking soda onto the carpet, let sit as long as possible, use a vacume with a hepa filter, throw away contents.

If you have forced air, open all the windows then turn on the furnace fan (no heat or cold just fan)

Eat a large pot of beef chili by yourself, fart on every pillow the tenants own.

After much airing out the small has largely dissipated. The air is now smoky from forest fires, so that’s a win?
