    Paintball guns' value

I've been considering upgrading my marker by buying an Etha3. It would be way overkill for my usage, but I can afford it and would like to see what a high quality pb gun can do. Recently I've been looking at ebay and used equipment. To my surprise, it seems that most of the Etha3's listed used have asking prices (not an auction, but fixed prices) so close to the new price that even cruising the listings is a waste of time. If someone upgrades a mechanical model with an e-trigger, the price approaches that of a new gun.

Are these used guns really sold for those prices? Is the market so tight that the value is there in a used Etha3?

Etha 3's are gonna be slower to get cheaper on the used market than most guns. They're not the type of gun where a new "LE colorway" or an updated Etha 3.5 is likely to come out any time in the next few years, so MAP for a new, black Etha 3 is going to stay the same until it increases with inflation. There's no clearance sale coming like there is with higher-end guns (everyone is dumping TM40's right now because of the the new Luxe rumors, 170R's are dirt cheap because of the 180R).

Etha 3's are also so reliable, that people often keep them as backup/loaner guns after they get something more expensive. Etha's aren't fashion purchases, so you don't see them getting swaped back and forth on FB either.

Take the lack of cheap used Etha's as an sign of their quality. Unlike most guns, there's something about them where people just don't want to give them up after they buy them.

Saw an Emek with pops for 200 plus shipping. I've seen 3Ms go for 300-325

Edit: you meant Etha 3 as in electronic version, which is more like 400. But as they've mentioned, Facebook groups are the best bet if you know how to watch out for scammers.

Unless you are stuck on the etha there's lots of other stuff out there, just go through the bst here for instance.

Also, I wouldn't rule out the etha 2 either. Same engine and I think board even. Pretty minor differences everywhere else

What I've noticed is that anything that is basically 2 years old or less is going to be basically MSRP unless you get lucky on Facebook or eBay Goodwill's site occasionally has some diamonds as well

          what do you normally shoot?
the difference between an old school spyder and anything made in the last 10 years is night and day. just take your pick and it will run rings around a spyder or 98C.
are you set on a spooler?
