Summer of 2010, I was loudly lamenting the fact that there were no old classy shooters to be found on the Swedish forums. A friend of mine pointed me here, and my wallet has been permanently lighter for it. Apart from the "occasional" purchase, I have been mainly lurking, even though I wholeheartedly enjoy following the madness that goes around here.

So when MCB went down, that was quite a shock - although not even close to the magnitude of shock and terror at seeing real names and mug shots at MCB Facebook, trying to figure out who was who. Madness - madness, I tells ya!

I live in Gothenburg, or Göteborg as the Swedish spelling goes.

The umlaut (the two dots) indicates that the letter "ö" is pronounced differently than the letter "o". The changing pronounciation very much becomes hard wired in the brain - pretty much like you can't willingly not see the difference between the letter "l" (L) and the letter "i". So any English name with the addition of umlauts for effect, for example Motörhead, to us becomes about as silly as if Metallica had decided to call themselves Metalllca.

It wasn't my intent to lecture you, even though my answer might have come out that way. I simply figured that MCB might be the only paintball webpage crazy enough to actually appreciate a snippet of random information about those strange dots above some letters, and why Scandinavians smile at the cute attempts when rock bands try to look that extra bit cool.

found paintball again late 2017, bought a 98 custom pro. Then an Azodin Kaos-D. Then found a really nice shape Tippmann Pro-Am with a 16" AA. Took the Pro-Am out to the field and hooked up my HPA tank. Could only get it to chrono up to 240 fps , played anyway, had a great time, even got a few eliminations with it.
After that started hunting for some deals on CO2 tanks. Met ThirdOfFive (Hugh) for the first time, and the red van, and he hooked me up with a couple good shape 16oz tanks, and some pro am spare parts.
He told me about MCB and that if I liked the old good stuff, it was the place to go.
He did warn me that after signing up, my wallet would soon be empty ,and man, it was like Hugh could look into the future!

One of the first "real" paintball guns I ever bought was a classic mag. That lead me at the ripe age of 15 to Automags.org in 2004 as "NewbieMagMan10988." I found out mags were not my speed, and got into pump guns. I found my way to MCB pretty soon after, but my "old" account has a join date of 8-1-2006. I could have sworn I was on here long before - maybe that was after the first wipe? That would explain my current handle.

Wild to think it's been that long!

I found MCB after a long paintball hiatus. I was looking for stock class games like I used to play with the paintball marshals in the early 2000's. That brought me to Slim's games.

September 22nd 2012, my 12th birthday. Parents bought me a groupon that was for 5 entry/air, m98 rentals, and a case of paint at cpx sports (press f). Took me and 4 of my closet friends in our little middle school group. We did open play and had a blast, i got ejected XD.
as we were actually walking back to return our gear and leave. we shot the last 20-50 balls at the target range. Sometime on our way out, We thought it would be cool to shoot air into our faces to cool off in the heat. So anyway i started blasting bam bam bam bam bam in the middle of staging area this dirty m98 into my friends face point blank. Ref comes running yanks my wrist band and takes my marker. Friends return theirs the usual way, and we laugh about each other's faces as the giant ref charged us, as we walk to my dad waiting to drive us home For dinner and cake. Came back shortly after by myself and i just never stopped playing since.

I joined like june 2017. Pretty sure just a paintball question i had and googled led me here. That memory unfortunately is not a vivid. Lol

Circa 2004 Thumper and I were doing a lot of building Snipers for friends and players so were actively looking for parts and markers (I also built Cockers, Mags and Nelsons). He stumbled on someone who mentioned MCB on a Pump specific forum I did not belong to, saying there is a forum that is all about old gear and B/S/T. So I followed his link immediately, checked it out, joined and have been active since MCB 1.0.

I saw some grumpy old guys occasionally refer to it on Doc's Tinker's Guild. Took me a while to track it down, but it's been a consistent cornerstone of my hobbies since.

Can't remember if it was still pink in 2007, or if I just read a lot of people talking about when it was pink... Mandela Effect lite

The previous "old guard" date was April 2006, which I believe was when MCB 2.0 replaced the salmon forum

Google search for stock class, ended up on MCB, also it was after BEOG.org went down.

Found sometime around ‘04, when getting back into sport. Didn’t subscribe to any sites at the time, and came in sort of backwards, discovering vintagerex first when looking up the old guns I remembered using from the early 90’s. I think it referred back to MCB. Technically joined BEOG first, to buy a couple parts, and lurked for a week or two on MCB before creating an account.

I was playing at the local haunt back in '02 or so when A bunch of yahoo's sitting up on the deck by the door into the proshop were talking about a "forum" named after the dude in glasses smoking a cigar. Google-Fu got me there. I gave up paintball and most things internet in 04 when I shipped off to boot I didn't get back onto MCB 2.0 until '08 after I got out the army. I have lurked/played sporadically since then.

                      I didn't find MCB.

                      MCB found me.

So I was active on a number of other forums. On PBN occasionally, checked the Guild daily, occasionally browsed Automags.org, and somehow became an Admin on BEOG. So back in the early 00's there was enough old school Owners Groups we managed to throw together the occasional Owners Group Division at some major tournaments. Namely the International Amateur Open (IAO). In 05 I attended the IAO playing for the BEOG, mostly using my crazy 15 bps Avenger, but on one game I did use my very vintage Golden Eagle. Lots of cool pictures of that made their way around the internet, and it became a topic of discussion on a few of the forums. I believe someone on the Tinkers Guild mentioned to me that people on MCB were talking about it, so I made an account to join in the discussion.

Back in 06, looking for parts and diagram for a PMI-1 that I bought at a garage sale for $25. Lurked as a visitor for a year or more, then joined in 08. Two weeks latter became a contributing member.
