Know when to cut your losses

Brah. Strange noises and bumps don't mean keep going

I hope nobody here is a swift driver. I know there are plenty of good drivers for swift it just seems like whenever I see a video like this it has about a 50% chance of saying swift on the side of the truck.

So Swift is the new JB Hunt then?

Honestly, driving intelligently in the US is a thing of a past. Nobody knows or cares what’s legal or safe. Not the cars, the trucks, or the cops. Everyone sucks now and we all think we’re awesome. I’m told it’s called “Freedom”. Cars are safer than ever but fatalities climb and everyone just keeps on doing stupider and stupider stuff behind the wheel.

That's why I always drive extra courteously. I have a theory that if you are extra nice to the right person at the right time it plants the seed of change. Maybe I'm wrong, but it's worth it for me.

To be honest courtesy is a major problem these days when people use it instead of just obeying traffic laws/logic. Driving is not a one on one thing. It’s everyone at once. Keep right, pass left. Be like robot…or at least Vulcan. If you’re not a cog in the machine you’re a wrench in the works. Don’t stop at roundabouts and attempt to direct traffic from within your car. You’re f-ing up the rotation.

Example: when some moron wants to make an impossible left turn out of a driveway near a light and you decide to be nice and let him out. Don’t do that. That dipstick needs to learn that there are hours of the day that you can only turn right out of that driveway. The answer is not 20 people missing the light so that two jerks can be nice to each other. Also that guy is now turning a blind corner and is risking a serious collision so is it even a favor at all?

VERDICT: When the rules of the road are obeyed there is rarely use or even opportunity for niceness. Don’t let him out instead give him the bird. It’s for his own good.

In my area we have a bridge that has been hit eight times this year, and countless others. They have put up signs, bigger signs, bigger signs with flashing lights, and a 1.5 million dollar laser warning system that none of the above have stopped the stupidity. Just plug in the gps and sit back, no need to read signs i guess.

In SE Michigan there have been at least three different bridges taken out by bad truck drivers in recent years. They often do not repair quickly.
