New paintball marketplace: website + app

This app/marketplace is just for paintball. It’s touted to be the social media replacement of FB marketplace so you don’t have to cover up triggers to keep from getting g posts removed for selling “firearms.”

You can choose to continue using PayPal G&S or do purchases through them to get buyer/seller protection and shipping discounts. Haven’t used it yet so YMMV.

Pretty quiet so far, but I think it just launched a day or two ago. Neat idea - apparently the developer did the same thing with another app called “hopup” for airsoft.
Paintball Buy, Sell, Explore. The world's largest dedicated marketplace for buying and selling new or used paintball markers, gear, accessories and more!

There was another similar app I can across a while ago but had a lot more stuff on it. This is pretty bare so far. Be interesting to keep an eye on. Not a fan of selling on Facebook but has a bunch of JT stuff that I need to sell.

So far this one lets you decide between using PayPal G&S (free to post/no fees from site) or their own payment handling.

Tried using this app wouldn't allow me to post an item for sale. Zero response from support team after trying to contact them. It should also be noted that nothing is on the app to view ie items or sellers.

Only if there were a privately owned forum that catered to the paintball community that facilitated reputable BST....hmmmmmm

It’s true 😜 mcb is very alive and well. I appreciate that this may give the benefits of an app (notifications, built for commerce) without the drama of FB attached to it.

Works for me. There’s not much there - I think they just launched a few days ago. I was able to get to the listing page no problem. Did you create an account?

Yes I do have an account. Developers replied to my email and resolved the issue. I'm live now .

If this site has a good search filter, and curates things correctly it could take off....but it's doubtful. The search engine looks solid but it's hard ot say how it will work after the site gets loaded with stuff. I might put stuff for sale here just because I like the concept.

        Edit:
The app is requiring me to share location data in order to do anything, even use the search bar? This is not a good start. Something like this asking for my location information is unsettling.

Also, I can't do anything on the web page, it forces you to use the app. I don't get warm fuzzy feelings about this.

Curious where did you find out about it? Could be cool if it could get a large user base. Wonder how much the creator is pushing/ marketing the app? I think using mcb for such things is superior in my eyes cause the barrier of entry of forums weeds out idiots but there is not nearly the market size of say ebay or facebook.

Found out about it on a FB Paintball BST group. Don’t know any of the devs - just thought it was creative and might fill a void that Facebook can’t fill. I agree, every transaction I’ve had here has been awesome. FB transactions are hit & miss.

Ended up selling some automags through the app, but used PayPal instead of running payment through the app - they’re too new for me to trust them with my credit card. Went well, and there’s a way to “vouch” for a buyer or seller after a transaction, which is nice. So far my biggest complaint is that there aren’t more users or items for sale.

Just downloaded and looked through it. It's flooded with this week's flavor of e marker. Prices are Facebook standard for the most part, through the roof

Were you hoping for a marketplace that was tailored to your specific tastes with prices through the floor? Most online marketplaces - new or used - have “this week’s flavor of e marker” as the main course because that’s what most players want. Go to MCB or scour eBay & SGW for classics. But I DID have two automags posted here for sale at the price you suggested I list them at, and they just sat. I posted them there for the same price and they sold in just a few days. It’s another marketplace where buyers look. If you have what they want for the price they’re willing to pay, they’ll buy it.

But I think you’re being unfair to FB pricing. If you ask for a good deal in the Paintball BST group, there are tons of people willing to throw their used gear at you for said good deal. Upped Emeks can be had for ~$250 shipped with extras, 170Rs for ~$500-550, and CS2s for $700. Seems like decent prices for what those are. The same prices are reflected on the app’s marketplace - some sellers have decent prices. Others are selling their classic Trracers for $180. There’s no law against doing so, they just won’t sell their gear until they lower their prices to what people will pay.

Just downloaded it to take a peek. Two observations:
                      1. Android app requires you to enable location to use the search functionality, which is a bummer. You can still browse and filter, but can't search.
                      2. Terms you must agree to are quite interesting:

(I suspect once the app developers find out about MCB, you'll also have to agree to something like "MCB is full of crusty people swapping half-built cockers" to sign up.)

Do you have some steak in this app? You seem rather riled up for a few sentences of opinion

considering the slew of different BSTs on FB I was hoping for at least some variety. It's not like I've looked at every single ad but so far I've seen exactly 2 mechanicals and one I had to search for. Heck even your own examples for pricing below, you are using 3 markers all from PE.

Yeah, everyone here typically wants a really good deal on a cheap mag or a upper end build. Your mags were the awkward middle ground so I'm not surprised that's where they sold.

I'm really not. I picked my emek up here for 125, buddy of mine was getting back into paintball, I found a package deal for him through CL, etha2, emek, 68/45 with 3.5 years, ltr for $450. So break that out and if you consider the tank at $100 and hopper at $50 you then split the etha and emek across $300.

I think FB pricing is what people have gotten used to but that doesn't make it good.

I do think this app has some potential though people have been complaining for years about Facebook's policies and whatnot but there's also no other centralized area to go outside of paying vast fees for eBay
