good watch The REAL Cost Of Owning a Luxury Mansion!

    #2
I read an article by a realtor a couple of years back. The realtor worked for several years in a wealthy area, and dealt with a number of mansions for rich people- rock stars, movie stars, athletes, etc.

One of the biggest revelations was that none of them use all of it. If a pool is used at all, it's only during a party. The author sold several places where the pool had never been used.

Most of the rooms never get used. Those fancy gyms? Nobody uses them. Most of the bedrooms have never been slept in, if the place has more than one kitchen, only one has ever been used, etc.

Typically if a family is living there, they use the livingroom- or wherever the TV is- a couple of the bedrooms, a kitchen and a dining room, etc. The rest of the house is never used.

I had watched a show that talked about this. They put monitors on people and tracked their movement in their house for a month (or some extended period of time) .

It showed how much people actually use their space. It was really interesting.

My old boss lived 3 doors down in an expensive area near DC where a former #1 overall draft pick for the then-Redskins lived. I am using "lived" very liberally. He had owned the house for 3 years and the moving boxes were still in the living room. He had NEVER actually lived there, and the house was over a couple million.

Before Michael Jackson died, there were several articles about how bad his finances were. He owned the Beatles' library, besides his own stuff, and just before he passed, he was something like fifty million in debt.

And a fair part of that was he insisted that his "Neverland" amusement park be fully staffed 'round the clock, just in case he decided to stop by with some guests to ride the roller coaster or whatever.

That meant that each day, every day, people would come in, light up all the booths and rides, pop fresh popcorn for the carts, wheel out the ice-cream carts, and so on. Every day, regardless of whether anyone was expected to attend or not.

Those places are just a place to keep depreciating assets (cash) from depreciating. Rich people need to spend there money or they lose it to things like inflation / taxes. It’s also a status symbol. “Look what I have” very few are used regularly.

Real estate, rare cars, big boats, Art, are just places to hide money for them.

I don't know if I could ever have a mansion, but the house I live in now kind of feels like one. it is nearly twice the size of the house I grew up in, and over 1000sq ft larger than the first house my Wife and I had. the roominess feels nice, and we make use of it all

I wouldn’t even want that it’s excessive and stupid. Rather have a big plot in the middle of nowhere. Just want I need with a big garage for toys and self sufficiency equipment.

yeah the same size house I have now, on a big plot of land, would be nice. but my current location is nice and incredibly convenient for the life of my family right now

My kids aren't out of the house yet & I already want to downsize. Mainly due to cost. If I want to retire at 59 & 1/2 I need to not spend & dump money into my retirement account. I'll be damned if I work more than part-time after that age. A smaller house (with smaller bills) would help with that. A double-wide or a comparable stick-built on a block basement would be perfect, but I might not get the wife on-board with that.

Did a quick search about the channel
Fake watches being sold for a ton of money
            Seems he's promoting fake watches

He generally seems to be a not good person.

watch not fake real watch. he makes his own watch to look high end. he start program with guy do not recall name. but pretty much all watch deals will join for free. when a watch get sold goes into database that marks item sold and where from and who too. so now all high end mid range or any way can be track if stolen. system will mark watches stolen if reported. he up and up guy. old producer for music and made some good investments too.
