Hey you artist type people, need help with graphics for my vehicle.

So some of you probably remember my big 4x4 camper van. It's a 1979 Ford E-350, with very few windows. And almost without fail every time I show it off someone either compares it to the A-team van, which I take as a compliment, though my nerdy sense of precision will tell you the long, long list of things that make it most certainly not like the A-team van. Or they say it needs some sick airbrush artwork on the side like the vans back in the 70's and 80's.

And since the existing vinyl letters are starting to peel (they're like 7 years old now, they don't last a particularly long time) I think some artwork is the direction I want to go. Probably go with a printed vinyl partial wrap or just a printed graphic. Local shop does some great work. But I need some inspiration, some brainstorming of ideas.

So here's a side shot with the letters digitally removed....

Feel free to download and photoshop, scribble with MS Paint, print out and let your kids draw on it with crayons, whatever. Have fun with it.
I was thinking some sort of Frank Frazetta or Boris Vallejo fantasy stuff with warriors and dragons and chicks in bikini maile, but I am totally open to whatever ideas you guys come up with. Nothing is too out there or too tacky.

A rattle can and a roll of masking tape yields surprisingly good results. Only thing I'd change is to use a 2-part paint that actually dries hard. I used enamel which remains soft and collects dirt

Beat me to it! Side note, do not put "grape van", "free candy", "ice cream and naps", and "free 10mm sockets" on your van in Forza. Apparently it's "child endangerment". You know, they don't want you driving around picking up all of the little kiddies in the game that the devs programed to be gullible to the "free candy" van myth.

This looks like an awesome camping/adventure rig! I'm not the artist you're looking for, but would you share a link to your long list of precision nerdery?

Thank you, it is a ton of fun (well, three and a half tons of fun to be exact). One of my favorite things to do with it is to go "up north" with it to where there's county land where you can camp just about anywhere for a $15 fee. They call it "Dispersed" camping, though all the cool people call it Overlanding or Boondocking.

This spot is an old hunting cabin lot in the county woods, where I had to drive over a foot deep washout and over a couple birch trees the beavers had knocked over. Big old boy rolled right over those obstacles.

And the differences between my van and the A-team van are; mine is a Ford, theirs is a GMC; mine is a 3/4 ton, theirs is a 1/2 ton; mine is four wheel drive, theirs is a two wheel drive; my colors are black/silver/red (though the silver may end up removed with this project), theirs are black/red/dark silver; the diagonal of the color transition starts at the front tire on mine, starts just below the side front window on their; their front bumper is larger than mine; they have turbine mag rims, I desperately want turbine mag rims; I have a top luggage rack, they don't; they have a sun visor on their windshield, I don't.

Possibly. Not a die hard fan of them musically so I'd feel a bit like a poser, but let's see how that would look....

Super quick hack job, but it gets the idea across.

At this point you could go looking at fantasy novel covers too.
